Is it too late to make changes to the house?

The plans are complete with our architect so we're focusing on color schemes. We haven't started building yet so we could consider changes minor changes

The blue, with crisp white trim, is very striking. You say you’re building deep in the woods - do you want the house to be virtually invisible in its setting, or jump out?

I don’t know what you mean by planting a tree in the ‘gap’? Since you’re building, can’t you build a house without a ‘gap,’ wherever it is?

Our color quest is leading us more towards a striking look. We considered cedar/wood look vinyl siding with black trim but that seemed too dark and "fake". We like the look of black windows with white trim, just not sure how it would go with the blue siding.

Long story on the gap, but in the end we focused on the back view (where we'll spend all our time) with the master BR in the front

I wouid dial down the contrast a bit. Bright white trim against a dark body feels out of place in the woods.

I love the blue house with black roof and white trim idea. It looks charming, which is all that matters. Being "in the woods" doesn't mean your house has to blend in. Someone else on Houzz asked about the blue house in the woods look and I shared a photo my former house, which was BM River Blue. They used a similar color and it looks beautiful.

Beautiful RR! My husband is too nervous now to go with blue so we're leaning towards charcoal gray, like this house. White trim, white garage door, black windows, black full view doors.

We're also revisiting the front view with the windows being skewed and the annoying gap. Thinking of redoing windows to something like this pic/drawing

Charcoal grey is definitely a good choice as well. And my husband was probably nervous when I said I wanted a dark green or blue house, but everyone always recognized our property as the one “with the blue barn”.

Make sure it’s a rich charcoal and not too “brown” charcoal. It will look too much like tree bark. Seriously. I am not joking, though it could read that way.

Hmm, now you got me thinking again RR. The house pic in my last post is Charcoal Gray. Here are the two colors we've been considering for comparison. We picked the CG because it seemed warmer and more conducive to the woods than the Flagstone bluish gray. More to ponder! Thanks for your input

I wasn't happy with the front windows/elevation so our architect changed them to this pic. Windows aren't perfectly symmetrical but maybe that's okay?
