Sorry I can't post pictures of the cabinets or countertop as they are not installed yet. Actually,they are both on order. The countertop color link is posted below. Kraftmaid describes the fawn finish as 'A soft nut brown semi-transparent finish'. The kitchen is open to the dining room and I have wainscoting to match the cabinets in there. The top of the walls will probably be painted a soft green color. I have alot of natural light in the room, if that makes a difference. I am struggling to find a tile that picks up the brown color in the countertop which is what I have been trying to do. Any suggestions would be most welcome! I haven't seen that granite in person, but wow yours is so glossy and beautiful. Love the way it looks with your cabinets; the peninsula looks soooo pretty. Don't like the marble BS with your granite. Agree with palimpsest that the scale and pattern of the movement is too similar to that in your granite. They'll end up fighting rather than complementing each other. Of the glass I like the one in the middle. More neutral than the others and looks to go very well with the color of the floors. I don't think it's stark. The subway is a great shape that melds with the traditional ( transitional?) style of your cabs, but the glass has a modern feel and goes well with your fabulously glossly granite which is the star in that kitchen. Keep it simple. BTW, no matter what the backsplash or what the GC says, no No NO to the 4" granite BS! If you have more of the glass tile, yes please post a picture with several in place so we can see how it looks and please show us whatever else you find!

The best 2 looking backsplashes, that always match the granite that you choose, are a backsplash of the same granite, or NO backsplash at all. Granite does not have grout lines, so not only do you have a color difference by choosing a tile or whatever but you go from a nice smooth surface to something with "Butt Ugly" grout lines and all broken up, (right above the granite) instead of 1 solid piece like the granite is. I mean, look at the work and the post you see about getting a "perfect seam" on adjoining granite pieces, and all the grief when the seam is not perfect~~~yet that same poster will have right above the granite, (something called a backsplash) that is a Missmash of tiles or whatever and grout and a ton of imperfect lines!!! (or even if perfect lines), they are still ugly to me!!!! Gary

They are McKinley Maple/Mocha Glaze. remodelfla - Thanks for the link; Are you suggesting if I do a tumbled stone to put that with the glass tile, or a glass tile from your Jeffrey Court sample? Or was that tumbled also? To me, the tumbled tiles and glass are completely different looks, but maybe that's okay? I definitely need help here! You seem to be a pro on backsplash ideas, so I appreciate the guidance. ichearts - Our home is a Colonial style. We ripped out the wall dividing the kitchen and family room. The reflection of the door was an open French door out to our deck from the family room. I would love to see a photo of your kitchen! Suddenly the granite selection seems so much easier! I guess my biggest fear is taking away the beauty of the granite. I want something beautiful yet subtle on the backsplash.
