Any suggestion / advice on LED-based lighting for basement
Comments (5)After your help and some research, I have decided to go with Cooper Lighting RL560 "Halo". They are sold in both Home Depot and Lowes: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Halo-6-in-White-LED-Recessed-Lighting-Trim-RL560WH-R-ONLINE/203561301#specifications After taking 3 samples and temporary hooking them up, I like the 3000K light (83 CRI) that I am getting in my basement. It's also rated for damp or wet usage. Before I go and buy about 25 of these, does anyone know or are aware of anything negative about this model? Last, but not least: My future basement's open area is going to be 14 feet x 19 feet. The ceiling hight is just under 7 feet. With this in mind, I figured I will need to have 3 rows of 5 RL560's (spaced 4 feet apart) / divided into 2 zones. I will not be using dimmers. Does it make sense?...See MoreNeed advice re 3-Way Lighted Rocker Switch not turn off LED light
Comments (0)I recently completed a renovation in my basement, where I installed the following recessed LED lights in the ceiling: Lithonia Lighting 6" P Series: http://www.lithonia.com/commercial/6%22+p+series+led+modules.html In two places in the basement, I want to use a "lighted" (pilot light) 3-Way Rocker Switch. It turns out though, that when I use them, the LED's don't turn all the way off. If I use regular light bulbs instead, there are no such no problems. I have now tried using the 15amp rocker switches from both Leviton and Pass & Seymour/Legrand, but same result. I guess because the pilot light on the rocker switch is on, that somehow the LED light continues to use that tiny voltage for itself. Am I missing something? I know that it all works fine if I don't use the lighting / pilot light. However, I would preffer to have it so people dont search for switches in the dark. All advice and input is much appreciated!...See MoreSpa Light Stopped Working
Comments (4)Does the pool light work? If no, check the GFCI. If yes and you have a multimeter or voltage meter you can energize the spa light and check the relay's load terminal to the neutral or ground bar for 120 +- volts. If you have voltage and you already replaced the bulb don't bother replacing the bulb again, it'll be a bad fixture. If your pool is only a half year old your spa lamp will be under warranty from the Mfg. See ya, Kelly...See MoreTroubleshooting a light fixture that has stopped working.
Comments (4)Sounds like either a loose connection or a bad switch. New switches are cheap enough you could try replacing it and seee if it solves the problem. If it is still acting up you'll need to take the light down and inspect the wiring that feeds it, making sure it is always getting power when the switch is turned on....See MoreCavimum
