More to the "Chapman's Premium" ice cream story referred to above. Many food processors have been shrinking their packages, e. g. yogurt, meat, ice cream, cookies in recent years but the Chapman's makers have resIsted, keeping to the 2 litre size when others shrank to 1.66, 1.5, etc. When writing to them I've thanked them for that, saying that sometimes when unit prices of others on sale have been lower, I stay loyally with "Chapman's". Where I have yet to possibly have an effect is that I should write to the others to tell them of my dislike of their shrinking their package sizes so much that I refuse to buy their stuff even when it's cheaper per litre/gram! ole joyfuelled ... who fuels also with ice cream, on occasion

Jim, I played in an old time string band for nearly 25yrs. and then an Irish Ceili band. We played for many contra, square, and Ceili dances. One of my musician friends had a t-shirt that had that saying on it. It's oh so true! But playing music for dancers is great.

It looks as though you've had an interesting time facing life, drewsmaga! I think I see something like eyes in your story/face, and a small nose with sort of a smiling mouth ... but there also looks like a large nose, but that has a small hole of a mouth included, and most of us haven't seen even a smallish mouth at the end of a nose. A bit of a couple of stragglers of beard, as well, maybe. I guess I'm sorta confused. Looks like you've had some ups and downs: glad to see that you appear to be on quite a high, at the moment. I saw a groundhog wandering around my backyard yesterday. It was a sunny day but he didn't seem to be scared of his shadow. Looking at the 15 day forecast, winter seems to be just starting here. Many single digit lows, highs in the teens, and chances of snow. So far we haven't been below 15F yet this winter.

sweet summer child (plural sweet summer children) (often sarcastic) Someone who is naive, or who has never experienced hardship.

Graywings - you can watch a short clip of the scene where Old Nan uses the phrase. It's less than 2 minutes and is wonderfully evocative of the "Winter is Coming" theme of GOT. It's the motto of the House of Stark and the title of the first episode.
