What a Hoot! Cuisine AuntDai Restaurant in Montreal

So this restaurant has been in the news for its brutally honest menu descriptions. They are pretty funny - reminds me of the movie The Invention of Lying 😄

A few examples:

"Owner's words:
Comparing to our General Tao Chicken, this one is not THAT good.
Anyway, I am not big fan of North American Chinese food and it's your call.

Peanut sauce (chicken, beef, shrimps or vegetables at choice) (Huā Shēng)$11,99"

"Owner's words:
I don't know why but peanut sauce chicken is liked by a lot of customers at AuntDai.

Black Pepper (Hēi Jiāo )$11.99"

"Owner's comments:
Again, this dish is very well-known and we are not 100% satisfied with the flavor now and it will get better really soon.
PS. I am surprised that some customers still order this plate. In my opinion, our Sichuan Pepper Chicken Salad is better than this one.

Soups (Tāng)

Hot and sour soup (Suān Là Tāng)$2,99"

A bit more info:

"...And these honest descriptions of the dishes aren't a new addition. Most of them he wrote years ago, he told CNN partner CBC news. He just didn't want customers to get disappointed.

"A lot of people want to be the best ... and we are simply not the best. That's a fact," he said. "We just try to be a little bit better every day. And that's how I see it."

Now, as news of Fei's menu and brilliant commentary went viral, business has gone up, too.

"Friday and Saturday we saw a lot of new customers, and a lot of them told me they heard me on the radio or saw me on TV and they loved it," Fei wrote in a blog post on Monday, following his eventful week...."
