I just read several "my favourite room" threads and so many of them featured porches. I am envious.

Yes! It’s not how much you’ve spent. It’s not whether or not it’s “magazine worthy”. It‘s that we’ve become a family over these years and we really LIKE each other. What’s so special is that we get to see a bit more of each other and get to know each other even more!

So much fun and knowing the whys behind the favorites adds so much more character to already lovely spaces.

Thanks to LynnNM I was able to witness and be at the receiving end of that feeling of family that exists here. She started a thread asking for people to show me their kitchens and to talk about them as we are having to replace ours after a fire. I was overwhelmed at the generous responses from the people here and bookmarked the page for future reference.

A whole thread on kitchens I think was enjoyed by everyone. And the various threads on my favourite room is so much fun to read.

Perfect timing. A recent post asking for help had this forum linked with other forums including "Living Room." I went there, looked at a few posts and wanted to go home immediately! So here I am. Maybe it's because I rarely visit decorating boards anymore. I don't know but I do like this board. I'm so over someone telling me to get rid of something I love as if my pocketbook runneth over. :)

While I am trying to keep up during quick breaks, I am enjoying all the posts, just not commenting. Lots of fun seeing a new one pop up.

I've not participated in the favorite room thing as I feel it's like choosing between your children. There are many things I like about each room in the house so I can't really choose a favorite.

But I have enjoyed seeing other's favorites...all so wonderful and special in their own way!

Annie, that’s funny, I couldn’t pick a favorite at home either.

It's really hard for me to take a picture of anything because of the dust we get from living on a dirt/rock road. You wouldn't believe how much dust gathers between the window screen & glass. If you look closely at every picture I take there it is..DUST.

This is funny, a new house was built a ways up the road from us, on the north side of the road. We're on the south side. Makes a big difference when you live on a dirt road because most of the dust from what traffic there is which is a lot of oil trucks at times, blows directly to their house, from the south to the north. I told DH they're in for a big surprise.

Three months later they paid for a large patch of asphalt on the road in front of them. lol

I see I have to get my own thread up! Later.... But it looks fun!

I could pick a favorite child faster than a favorite room. :D

I agree I love seeing everyone's favorite spaces.

I love how different everyone's favorite spaces are. Unique style and character. It doesn't feel like I'm looking through pinterest or a catalog where everything is the same.

It's fun to see everyone's rooms. I never really spent any time on the other side of this forum - just came here for the conversations after I finished with Kitchens. So I didn't see anyone's decorating projects when they were originally under way - like Annie's for example. Nice to put the rooms with the names (and in some cases actual faces I've seen). I can see why many here have lost interest in the other side - just no comparison between what people are doing over there now and what you all did back in the heyday.

I want all these favourite room threads in one thread so I can bookmark it.
