I think you're right about the 14". Unfortunate the Wayfair site, where I plan on buying it, has a big discrepancy between the specifications and the part number,. No one there until Monday who can maybe figure it out. Some of it says it is the floor lamp and other parts of the info says it is the floor model. i plan on getting the aluminum. I already have a lot of black pieces and one more black might push it over the edge.

Beautiful home! I think shutters would look nice, but have you considered cellular shades? They're sleek, antistatic and dust repellent (shutters can be a pain to clean), and they insulate year round. Customers buy them for modern and elegant homes like yours, passive solar homes, city apartments, anywhere really. We custom-build cellular shades here in Vermont. Such a nice space. What are your needs? Are the window treatments strictly decorative? Do you need to protect furniture and rugs from the sun? Do you need privacy? I think you can use different treatments to differentiate rooms but I do think plantation shutters look best when they are used through the whole house. They have a lot of visual weight and I think it helps to make the room look balanced when they are used on all the windows. And since I am OCD, I also like to consider how my window treatments will look when facing the front of the house. I wouldn't worry about curtain panels just yet. You'll be adding rugs, furniture and art which will add different textures to the room. If you decide you'd like panels you can easily add them at a later time.
