Home Decorating Windows Design Dilemma

corner window wall decor

I need help. Can't decide on two frames or one on either side of the window (the image pictured with two frames stacked would also be on the other side) If the vote is for the larger single frame on each side, then would I mat or not mat the image. All images will be ocean/beach pictures from our vacations. (curtains are still in the works, ordered longer curtains and still searching for rings to match the rod)

do you need the floor lamp? drapery panels extending past the window trim would be more attractive.

the dining table light should shine on the table, not the ceiling. 30 -36 inches above the center of the table.

Remove the mirror from the room, not a good place for it either there or above the piano. The clock doesn't look right on the piano either. Maybe a framed piece of art above the piano coupled with a small lamp atop it to the side, you could perhaps incorporate the clock into the decor with something else. I think I'd ignore the corner and concentrate on decor for the media console & piano. Not too many little things , a few large objects so it won't look cluttered. Google online "decorating piano tops" for ideas. Good luck :)

I do like the plant to the right and could move tv a little more to the left(toward corner). Love the height of art on left wall(draws eye upward), just add one more coordinating piece below it to fill in space. Would then add a horizontal decorative light/white piece of art above the tv for symmetry.

Thanks Patricia and Chispa Thise are great suggestions. The pictures and attachments look really nice. We originally planned on having minimal window covering, but I'm coming around to a lot of new ideas. Below is a picture of the weird way the architect place the windows on the wall( so close to the corner!). We were able to fix this before it happen upstairs. But it was too late for this room. the curtains will completemy cover that corner. I now know why someone would build another house. we made a lot of mistakes we could correct the next time round.

Do you really need sheers and blinds? I’d keep the blinds and add blackout panels, but you might prefer keeping the sheers. I don’t think you’ll get all that much oomph from raising the rods to the ceiling. For me, I would want something a bit dramatic to off-set your lovely new tufted bed. I don’t know what your climate is, so I don’t know if solid dark velvet-y drapes would feel oppressive, but that is what I would go for. If I was someplace in the sunbelt, I might go for something linen (backed with blackout) with a subtle embrodiery design

I love your little nook, but I think the curtains are just too much and take away from your beautiful wood windows. And now with the pictures squeezed in between the curtain and the door, it is not getting better. There is just too much going on in this cute corner.

I agree to get rid of the curtains. Then put up two photos on each wall.

This is what I ended up doing. I fixed the curtain panels. (I know some of you aren’t fond of them.) but I love them. I feel like it’s cozier in here and not so cold because there’s only blinds on the window.
