Flat paint vs. Satin for exterior craftsman home

last modified: 3 years ago

I recently received an estimate for painting the exterior of our 100 year old craftsman home. The estimate included SW super paint satin. I was thinking about doing a flat or matte finish on the siding since it is an older home. Our boards are in pretty good condition, but there are still flaws. What do you recommend, flat or satin? I should also mention that we live in the PNW and do get a fair amount of rain. I know that flat paint is harder to clean, but I have a hard time imaging painting satin on a 100 year old home. Thoughts?
Thank you!!
