With a view like yours, nobody will be looking at your windows. Save the money.

White is classic, will never look dated....

Are you sure that two-toned windows are *less* expensive?!? That has not usually been my experience...

That’s what the builder has told us, saves average of $40 per window to have white on the interior.

What brand window? Being directly on Lake Michigan I would be very certain I had a quality window even if I needed to go with a simple white finish. Performance will be paramount to optics in that exposure.

Yes that is a fine window. That being said and honestly just my opinion, if going white interior you can do a split finish black exterior. If doing bronze exterior I would do bronze interior as in my opinion even though they are close in color, the bronze to me wants to be an only child. Where as the black plays better with others. Just my .02.

I may be way off here but is that brutal western sun likely to cause fading of dark exterior windows? Would exterior white be better? And would green paint be more likely to fade?

You might think white would be the safe choice, but lots of white window options can appear a little bluey or even greyed next to the lovely white paint colours you would like in your home.

Bronze/bronze would be my choice.

On the exterior it still gives a dark quality, but with more of a softness of many blacks.

In the interior it will still work with both warm and cool colours and you get to choose the whites you actually want for walls and trim.

Marylee, thank you for that perspective. Do you think that bronze interior works with a prefinished natural wood look trim around the windows, or would you recommend painting the interior trim?

P.s. And don't forget, black and white paint colours aren't the complete neutrals many imagine. EVERY one available to us belongs to an identifiable Hue Family.

Just like this one, lots of bronze colours come from around the middle of the Yellow-Red Hue Family through to the beginning of the Yellow Hue Family. Plenty of natural woods come from this region too.

So many bronze colours will have an organic connection to lots of popular wood colours. They are from the same Hue Family neighbourhood. They are related.

Obviously it's always essential to check your specific material options next to each other, for that necessary visual confirmation that they work for YOU in your space, with your light.

Should you choose to paint the adjacent trim, the more graphic quality of the bronze would be even more apparent.

Or upgrade to Marvin with wood on the inside and you can do any color you like, painted or stained.

I did what chispa suggested, and painted interior Urbane Bronze SW. Looks Great. So exterior is bronze, did unfinished pine interior and painted. If money weren't an issue, I'd do bronze/bronze from factory. Here's a picture I found during construction.

I'd do black, or the bronze, and then white. I love the black windows and have a few of them in my home. when it comes time to redo them, i'll do the black.

This is a lake house. Paired w/the warm wood ceiling and floors, the black interior is stunning.

I think it's important to balance the black and white w/warmer elements.

1600 more isn't going to be a deal breaker, so get what you like, or opt for the wood. this way you can paint them whatever color you like.

All of the photos of the interior with the black frames don’t have window treatments. I’ve read that it is much more difficult to have window treatments with black interior windows. I also read that black windows become more of a focal point as your eye is drawn to them. I have not been in many homes with black window frames so not sure if this is correct. I’m curious if people with black windows would concur.

I’ve decided to go bronze on exterior, and am leaning strongly towards bronze interior (though still tempting to save the money and go with white on inside...argh!).

I am building a beachfront home and we are going to be using Nuema viny impact windows. I cannot decide between black/black or bronze/bronze windows. I was told black in more $$$. The outside will be white/white with a light gray metal roof. The inside of house will be white with a sand color floor and will be luxury vinyl. The den and kitchen will have cathedral ceiling and the ceilings will be ship lap. Should I go with the black or bronze. I got samples of both colors. The colors are flat, not metallic... Need some help please!!! Here is a drawing of the house....white house/lt gray roof......
