I am the owner of a North Carolina furniture manufacturer. I am pretty sure that the Grade Q linen fabric you like is costing you several hundred dollars more than a good serviceable 100% cotton fabric would, but if that is the fabric you like then go for it. You are going to have this furniture in your home for 10 years or more and the last thing you want is to choose a cheaper substitute and then decide six months up the road that it just doesn't turn you on the way the more expensive fabric did. Regarding the age-old sinuous wire vs. 8 way hand-tied coil spring controversy -- Sinuous wire will last just as long (if not longer) than 8 way hand-tied and save you about $400 on the cost of the sofa. From a comfort standpoint, it takes a very sensitive rear end to tell the difference when you are sitting on a good quality cushion. Even the experts can't consistently distinguish between the two just from sitting on the sofa. Lee has a long reputation for making an excellent quality product at a good value. Of course you should actually try out the sofa before purchasing. A sofa that feels extremely comfortable to someone else may not be comfortable for you.

I strongly urge consumers to stay away from Crate and Barrel outlet stores. I spent over $2k on one couch which seemed to be in perfect condition and was a great deal compared to what it would have cost if I had purchased it in store (based on full description provided by store employees on model and fabric). Worst experience as the upgraded, stain resistant fabric along with the stain removing directions provided by the company on this model were so wrong and within a couple months I have nothing but water stains all over my whitish sofa. I followed everything exactly. The company takes no responsibility for selling me a $2K couch that, although came from an outlet with as is, was still $2K based on these features. I wouldn't pay $2K if it didn't have these features which were part of the sell to me. What a waste. The couch is not worth $5 at this point. Save yourself time and headache and know that just because it seems like a good deal and that you can inspect it all you want and do all the research , it means absolutely nothing. Will never shop with C&B - outlet or not - ever again. They owe me at least a professional cleaning but choose to simply say that I signed a waiver for the outlet so who cares if we sold you junk!!!!

I have the Madison extension dining table and 5 (used to be 6) Madison chairs. The table is okay; the extensions slide out well but the top is veneer--not a good choice for us. It's about four years old and the veneer top has scratched/chipped. My next table will be solid oak, or at least not veneer. The Madison table is probably not for daily, regular use but that's how we use it. The chairs are HORRIBLE!!! I plan to buy restaurant quality chairs when I find my solid oak table :-) When my chairs first arrived, two were wobbly at the joints. CB had great customer service and replaced them immediately. However, after four years most of the chairs have become loose at the joints and, on the chair we no longer have, the leg snapped off completely when my SIL scooted back in it and that leg was unrepairable. My DH has reinforced most of the joints but it's not pretty. I don't care because I'm planning to replace the whole set. I think it was WAY overpriced for the lack of durability. Totally my style, though, and I've had a hard time finding a similar style in solid oak. My advice is that CB furniture is probably more for looks than durability despite how expensive it is.

do you know what the fabric was called? I'm sorry I don;t have any experience with your particular issue, but I'm thinking of ordering a crate & barrel sofa so I'm doing a lot of research about their fabrics.
