Using Farrow and Ball paint in bath?
Comments (3)I have had BM replicate other company's paint colors and they always do a great job, but not F&B so far. I recently did a bathroom, and the main thing is that you deal with the moisture problem first, which it sounds like you have. In our case the exhaust fan worked but it was not installed flush and not sealed, so it was drawing air from the space above the ceiling as well as from the room. We fixed that, and moisture is not a problem. However, you just need to use a semi-gloss paint. You don't need kitchen and bath, necessarily, just one with a higher sheen to it, so any moisture will bead up. That's the advice I was given at BM. If you are worried about mold, they can put an additive in it, but if you've got mold growing on the walls it is more than a paint question!...See MoreFarrow & Ball paint on kitchen cabinets
Comments (16)I used F$B Old White. I love the finish. As Rococo said- it is very wipeable. My kids beat things up, and it has held up great so far. We are still working on our remodel (thus no new posted pics). French gray is a really beautiful color- I sampled it, but it was too green for the main cabs- I think I will be using it on a piece of furniture instead....See MoreHas anyone used Farrow and Ball Brinjal?
Comments (8)True that even the sample pot can be quite misleading. Especially if it's an already painted wall that you are sampling upon. F&B colors are very sensitive and when you are sampling it upon an existing paint color, the tested color would be greatly distorted by it's surrounding color. F&B is benefited by color harmony & color relationship. For example, if you want a blue more blue, try using it next to gray or greenish colors. Another important factor is the light source. Perhaps this explains why certain color is red in one house and purple in another. :-> For me, the way to sample F&B is to paint the sample on white poster board (3-4 coats) and try to view it apart from other colors. View it at different times of the day as well for what you see during the day may become a totally different color at night. Also, when using F&B the always looks so bad at the first couple walls . But when you finish the whole room, something magical happened and it's beautiful. :-> I am so used of seeing F&B chips and extrapolate it to room, but most of my friends think their color chips are just plain ugly. :-> This does not help does it? ;->...See MoreKeeping Vintage Cabinets:Farrow & Ball Paint? Need Frig & Hood
Comments (1)It's pretty common for older homes not to have range hoods, but happily looks like it should be relatively easy to add, from your photo. You can cook without it till you get to it, though. (We've been cooking without one for three years, and previous owners cooked without it for 90-odd years before then!) We don't have our fridge yet so I can't comment on performance, but it does meet your height requirement---the Fisher & Paykel single door bottom freezer. I really like the interior and freezer designs, though again, we haven't used it yet. Needs 69" of height for venting and 33" of width (can't tell how much space you have there?), comes in stainless (and also white), and is pretty reasonably priced. We're buying ours locally, which also ended up being the cheapest option, for whatever that's worth. Good luck---and I love your stainless countertops!...See MoreZach Dominguez
