Towel bar towel holder, colour?

I just painted this powder room and my son just snapped the towel bar so I don't know if I should use a bar style again or go with a ring? Also, I need an outside opinion regarding colour, stainless steel like the faucet or black like the light? Currently the toilet paper holder is white like the broken towel holder currently on the wall...I guess I need to match that to the towel holder? I worry about my patch job when removing these things, any tips?

I looked on amazon for ring hand towel holder for the hall bath. good price - and I don't have to go from store to store. need a bath towel bar and curtain rod but those can wait til I'm out and 'happen' to see some at a good price. I did see some nice ones at HD a few wks ago tho. find what you want at the plumber supply place then look them up on the internet and see if you can get a better price.

Epoxy is the only type I know of that has a fighting chance. You want to rough it up with diamond grit sandpaper. It's already white, so I assume you want some other color, which is good, because the one time I used a catalyzed epoxy enamel it yellowed severely in one month. Casey

Thank you Kats737. This will be very helpful to me for a whole other project. I would point out to everyone who might want to buy a toothbrush holder, that, generally, when these were in style, all toothbrushes were alike, and they all fit those holes. No more. I've got them in the bathrooms I'm renovating, and we haven't been able to keep toothbrushes in them for decades.

Our new bath has chrome shower trim and black cabinet pulls on the vanity. We are doing chrome hardware on the glass shower door and black hardware outside the shower (towel ring, robe hook, TP holder).
