I have the 800 series DW (SHE68E15UC) that I got about 2 months ago. It is extremely quiet and does a great job cleaning dishes. What I like best about it is the top rack for the silver ware. Every piece is separated and I put all of the same utensils next to each other which makes for a faster empty. You will read that some people do not like the European tines for the plates and glasses. Some feel they are too small. I have Pfaltzgraff plates which are big and clunky and have no issue loading. I also have the free standing French Door Fridge (B26FT70SNS ). This is something new for Bosch. After about 2 months I have no issues. There are 2 of us and we entertain often and love the output from the ice machine. We have yet to run out. It is also very quiet. It is about half as quiet as my old GE Profile SxS. I don't have a range though but I did get their induction cooktop which is my absolute favorite piece (NIT8665UC). This thing is amazing. Yes, I had to get new pots and pans (goodbye Calphalon, hello Le Creuset), but it was worth it. I love the stainless trim across the top and bottom, the way the 'buttons' are integrated into the trim, the ease of clean-up and the responsiveness of the system. Good luck with your decision making. It can be a bit overwhelming at times.

weissman & francoise47, I appreciate both of your opinions with I value. I have not seen the backguard in person. I will wait to get more opinions and then make my decision but I am not sure what I will be doing with the backsplash yet so maybe I should wait. If I don't do a backsplash until next spring, would it be OK to only have the stove against the drywall in my kitchen that is painted with no backguard or tile backsplash if I paint behind the stove in a semi-gloss?

We also have a GE Profile FD w/water (PFCS1NJWSS) and so far have had no problems. It was purchased in August 2007 but not put into service until June 2008 or so (long remodel). As to the range, in our old kitchen we had a GE Profile electric range w/convection oven and it was the only appliance that lasted the entire 13 years w/no problems...and it's still going strong for the people we gave it to! Based on our experience w/the range, we opted for a GE Profile electric cooktop & the GE Profile Trivection double ovens. As w/the refrigerator, no problems so far. I love my ovens, btw! The only things I wish they had are the racks that stay in for cleaning, are full-extension, and glide on SS ball bearings. If they had been available on the GE Monogram version I would probably have purchased that one instead (but maybe not, I don't like the exterior design/look).

oh. petra, too funny. appaently we have the same taste, too. so, please just tell me what granite you picked and save me some time! :) love the kitchen you posted. i think the white kitchens with black or grey in the granite look great with ss; i'm trying to go gold (or possible green), though, and minimize the black (to flow better with my living room and dining room). and that's where i'm having trouble figuring out how much ss is too much. it's probably going to come down to a gut reaction when i go to the store; hopefully they still have a white bosch on the floor
