My immediate thought is a tree. A long-lived one that will benefit many generations of people and animals. I have planted a lot of trees in my lifetime so I would be going into it with good karma.

tho, I did tell my son (as executor of my estate) that if he didn't do right by his sister that I'd haunt him the rest of his life here on earth!

If I had a choice I would just do this life over again and enjoy my spoiled rotten (by me) kids and granddaughter. I have had so many sweet friends. I have had everything that I really needed. Sure there was sorrow and uncertainty at times, but love and faith got me through everything

I don't believe in second lives or reincarnation, but I do enjoy exercising my imagination. I said 'tree' on impulse and I'll stick to that, so long as it's in a more peaceful age. I'd like to grow strong and tall, have birds and the wind weaving through my branches, feel the sun and rain on my thousands of leaves, quietly watch the season change, the stars follow their paths, nurture those around me, feel renewed every Spring, century after century. I'd want to be on the edge of a meadow, with a view of mountains around me. I don't feel a need to accomplish any more than that. I'd grow my roots and be content.

I'd like to come back as a rich woman's lap dog...taken everywhere., treated like a spoiled kid, best food, etc. lol

Like a few others above, I know where I'm going, I made the decision many years ago, and am glad I did!

There are a bunch of companies where you can't always get a cell signal now. So I think that the subject of amenities might have to be discussed with whoever is offering the choice.

I‘d like to return as the Second Coming. Use modern technology to reach a broader audience and clarify a few misunderstandings. Leave behind a better documented message, hopefully less subject to misinterpretation.

I would love a do-over for this life with fore-knowledge. Perhaps then I could spare my son some of his difficulties if I had a better Doctor who could help me go to term. Plus it would be nice to circumvent other pitfalls.

Of course that's likely not going to be the case but it's nice to think that it could be a possibility. It would be cheating I know but I want my son to not suffer so.

When I was a kid, one of father’s favorite books to read to me, (and he was great at it, acting out the parts, and changing voices for the different characters) was Les Fables de La Fontaine. I think this affected how I processed all the info I was fed as a child in parochial school. Looking for the meaning behind the stories.

I want to clarify, on this special day, Christmas Eve, that I am a believer too, but maybe in my own way. I’m not so sure that heaven is a place. (I do attend church, but haven’t since March. The Monsignor there is a wonderful, intelligent and caring person)

It’s all so personal though. Nothing could be more personal, that’s why I hesitate to comment.

I wish everyone a peaceful (even if it’s not the merriest) Christmas. I pray for healing for those who are sick and those who are suffering loss.

I miss my mom so much. My sister is terminally ill. My Dad is 90. I would want to be me again so I could be with them longer.

I would want to be on another planet where life is more highly evolved.

I expect to return to the cosmos -- as much an unknown as the origin of my life. I think it presumptuous for humans to believe they can understand such scale.

I had a friend in college who said that he wanted to come back as a rich lady's poodle. He was one of the first people I knew to die of AIDS. Now whenever I see someone's precious little poodle, I think, "Maybe it's Graham..."

Don't think I want to come back here at all. Plastic polluting and killing everything in the ocean, humans destroying everything they come into contact with. No thanks. Plus, you probably wouldn't get to decide where you came back. What if you came back to a war torn country or someplace like India where so many live in slums and don't have decent medical care or where they treat women like garbage? The odds are that's where I'd end up.

I am with all those who believe in the Good News. My hope is to be united with God.

Kathsgrdn, that's why the idea of reincarnation doesn't appeal to me -- I've already won the lottery by being born into the dominant culture at a time when the planet's resources flow mostly to people like me.

As for Heaven, when I think of that I remember two things. First, "My Father's house has many rooms" and second, less profound, the scene from Star Wars where Luke is promising "more wealth that you can imagine!" to Han if he'll help rescue the princess. "I don't know, I can imagine quite a bit!"

I suspect that we'll all end up with the same afterlife.......unknown.

I do believe in reincarnation, but don't find it at all reassuring. There is so much suffering in the world. The concept of life between incarnations is interesting and much more comforting.
