Quick Design Dilemma: Windows/Exterior Materials - Proportions

We decided to narrow the scope of our discussion to focus on the proportions of windows and exterior materials on front elevation.

While we would love to increase the HEIGHT of LOWER FRONT windows – structural issues made it impossible to go higher/taller (than indicated in first rendering). Someone in the HOUZZ community again suggested going higher to improve appearance – and while we can’t do that – it did get us thinking about going lower with that window in order to create a taller line... While we were initially reluctant to place windows closer to the ground (given concerns about furniture placement in front of window) we’ve decided that we can always raise blinds somewhat to block that furniture visually – if necessary.

Associated with that window change – we also lowered the height of the light colored (yet to be defined) textured exterior material.

We welcome your feedback regarding the placement and proportion of windows as well as the lighter material which surrounds the windows.

1) Which (LOWER) window size do you prefer?

2) What do you think about height/placement of that lighter material?

Any all input/questions/ideas appreciated!
