Mixing Wood & White Trims

User

Our (newer to us) house previously had walnut stained woodwork everywhere-doors, trim, windows. We recently put in new wood flooring and to keep from competing with wood tones, we painted the baseboards white. We have kept our windows, window trim, and doors stained walnut. The stain is in good condition with a very rich color and the stained windows are only a few years old. It seems like a shame to paint the windows :( My question is - can we mix stained windows/window trim with the white baseboards? I didn't expect to, but do love the contrast between the white door trim and stained doors (pic included-even though there is still come quarter round to complete) What are your thoughts on mixing stained and painted trim?
