Need to purchase 48' Range - Your help is so greatly appreciated
Comments (9)The Culinarian has a self clean model so there certainly isn't any problems in design that prevents it from being able to do 550F (i.e. insulation etc.). I think it's just a matter of available thermostat ranges and a choice of parts. Also the 50F difference probably won't make a huge difference in your pizza making. You're probably using a pizza stone and with that, it's more important the oven maintains a constant temp with good recovery time when you open an close the door to put the pizza in. An old trick you might already know is to wait until the oven is in its "on" cycle to open the door and put in whatever you're baking. That gives the oven burner a head start before losing all hot air. If you're impatient, crack the door a little until the oven cycles on and then close it for a minute before opening it wide. My wife and I went through a hummus phase where we were making fresh hummus. Of course with hummus, we had to have fresh pita so we'd crank out about 3-4 dozen fresh pitas at a time. First time we were fighting the oven to reach and maintain temp. Eventually, we got in sync with the oven cycles and worked with it. Results were noticeably better and took less time. BTW, I just ordered the 48" CC myself. Good luck and happy cooking....See MoreHave to decide today...input GREATLY appreciated!
Comments (28)We live very close to Six Flags, so we could probably meet there sometime. I am not a fan of roller coasters, but my husband and daughter will most likely drag me there anyway. We have been there a week ago (with free passes)and the Halloween decoration is pretty neat. "DH was a Navy Dentist" Oooh, I hate dentists... Of course not personally, but I am extremely scared of them. I just had my teeth done before leaving NC and the dentist laughed at me for being so terrified. I'd seriously prefer childbirth over getting teeth pulled or filled... I guess I have been mistaken about the tax credit for appliances. You can get up to 10% tax credit for energy efficient home improvements like windows, AC, water heaters etc. I was sure I read the same about washers and dishwashers, but the energy star webiste (see link below) shows that just the manufacturers get a tax break for those...too bad. We did install new windows, so we should get $200 back there...better than nothing. Have to get going. We'll go to the State Fair today! Comments (13)I noticed the same thing Sylvia did; the house examples posted all have the total body painted one color. Your house currently seems to have more trim than it does house. I think the grays and greens posted would look great on your house if the V-shaped area under the roofline (not the facia board) is painted the same as the body. You could still keep the trim white. Please come back and show us the completed project....See MoreNeed help picking paint color!
Comments (16)Thanks everyone for the input! some background: the house is located in Midcoast Maine. We are 5 minutes to the ocean but also 5 minutes from lakes and ponds. We live in a pretty wooded area. The house used to be a country store and was made into apartments about 30 years ago. We removed the vinyl siding that was up and repaired the original board and batten wood siding. The roof and porch roof are proving to be the most difficult to design around. The roof is dark brown and multi colored. It seems to have a warm/red undertone but there are times when it has sort of a purple look as well. The pitch of the porch is steep so we see lot of the roof when you look at the house from the street. We are surrounded by trees and the front of the house faces north. The front is shaded for majority of the day and under the porch is shaded/shadowed at different times. The roof looks black for maybe 60% of the day. The porch doesnt extend to the back and the back is sunny for the whole day. Since the house is so dark most of the day, I originally wanted to go light with the paint to brighten things up. Im just worried that most light colors will create a big contrast with the porch roof and the house wont look cohesive. We added window casings and I really wanred to do contrasting trim but our house is not symmetrical and I don’t want to draw attention to the imperfections. We went to BM wnd grabbed some green paint chips and I think a mid or dark green could work, but my gut thinks going off-white may be the best play. I added some more photos to get an idea of the lighting at differnt times of the day as well as some from when the trees had leaves. Thank you all again for the help!!...See MoreJared Braswell
