Comments (4)But mostly, I want seed from this plant. It is so tenacious about living, that I want some copies next year. I'm worried that it's too late in the year, but I'm going to try and grow this one out far enough to get some seed. **** with those blossoms and you being in Atlanta it shouldn't be a problem to get mature fruits. But I do hope you get some single blossoms b'c with so called megablooms you can get fusing of the fruits and then there's a greater chance of getting crossed seeds b;c of the possibility of different blossoms in that one megabloom being independently X pollinated and then the several fruits becoming one. And I noticed you weren't bagging blossoms but perhaps this plant is far enough away from others to help ensure no X pollinations. OTOH seed for Big Rainbow is readily available at many places. Comments (11)Geraldine - I came back for another look at your D9S - and they have truly disappeared!! Can you fix your photobucket so I can see them again? If you moved the pix them into a different folder after placing the link here, the link would be broken. I'd love to see them again as I liked the arrangement. Thanks. goldie...See MoreCrumbs Sashed Via D9P
Comments (18)Hey Geezer, It's beautiful, I agree that the white & red just set it off perfectly, it's so crisp & clean & graphic. I was around w/ those Crumbmakers at the time. My crumbs are in browns & earth tones, but 4.5" crumb blocks. As you were kind enough to explain your layout, I was able to play w/ the numbers & re-scale it to work off my 4.5" square corner crumb blocks. I think it's probably a faster assembly that doing it individually. How clever of you to construct it w/ Disappearing Nine Patch. I won't get to work on it 'til next year, but you've given my chocolate crumb blocks a game plan so thank you VERY much!! Excellent work!...See MoreD9P baby quilt pics.
Comments (13)Dianne, I use pins, lots of pins. I had lots of help pinning at the retreat, so I got 5 quilts pinned and ready to go. I stretch and tape the backing down to the top of tables (at home I have to get on the floor), then smooth the batting and top. I sort of smooth and stretch the top as I pin from the center out. I don't know if it is the "correct" way to do it, but I stitch in the ditch around the borders and baste around the outside edge (outside border is slightly larger than I plan to finish the quilt) before I do the center. Then I quilt the center and finish the borders and binding. I have been known to go back and add some quilting after the binding is done because I thought it needed "something". If the quilt police knew how haphazard I work they might come looking for me. beverly...See More- 3 years ago
