Are those pics your kitchen right now, or are they what you want it to look like?

I like the black. The birdcage style is a little bit older and traditional. What about black in a transitional style piece? I think the floor and counter could stay and a new backsplash with again a cleaned up transitional vibe [white subway] would give a new lease. Unusual layout. RE: barstools- I might go and get something upholstered. it looks like a good perch even if the two only. I am not opposed but I'm not gung ho about roman style shades. Again: very traditional. Newer cellular shades in cleaned up look will tilt you to more transitional space.

I think black would look best too, just a more transitional style. And if there’s more in the budget, a new backsplash could really spruce things up.

Thank you I didnt even think about keeping it black, we purchased the home with this kitchen. The remodel was done in 2011 and it still looks really good. It's our first home and we just wanted to add our own touch. We will certainly be keeping the floors for now. Really great tip on cellular shades. Thank you!

I think black pulls will look the best - maybe something transitional like this:

And bar stools with a bit of color and black accents like this:

Add roman blinds to your window, in colors that compliment the bar stools.

I agree with simpler black or maybe stainless pulls, but I can't really see gold here. Beautiful kitchen though!

You could also bring in an accent color -- say, a green mat in front of the sink, plus green patterned upholstery on chairs or blinds.

I absolutely love the bar stool style and color. We recently upgraded our dining room chairs to a similar shape. Do you mind sharing where they are from
