Please help my drab/boring kitchen!
Comments (35)Lipton You have a lovely kitchen - you have admitted your afraid of color ;) I would suggest adding dashes of "temporary" color until you find what you like & feel comfortable with. I know you stated you wanted to steer clear of orange - I'll suggest go out of your comfort zone - Put several bowls of oranges in different locations - scour your home for anything orange - even if it is not "kitcheny" place it - leave it. Once you have left the orange palette in place for awhile, remove it and move on to a blue palette - The kitchen just needs some softening and color - re-painting the wall color is a good idea - and appears it would be relatively easy to do. Once you find the color that suit you - start slowly incorporating them - Fabric shade, some nice runner type rugs, cushions for the seats - Enameled cast iron pot sitting on the stove, a new tea kettle, plants in cache pots, linen dishtowels - Another option is to purchase samples of new hardware for the cabinets - this is a fun and easy way to provide new life to a kitchen - you have many options - Best of luck - Start small and continue to move out of your comfort zone you will be surprised!...See MorePlease help!!!! Comments (50)That kitchen as is does not blend with your other space.....light gray and white...contemporary style...if you are leaving the cabinets as is don’t add dark hardware..try a modern or contemporary style in brushed or polished nickel...no knobs all handles gives a nice contemporary look that is very cohesive......See MoreHelp with light fixture for over kitchen table
Comments (374)Ok so I read this last night in bed on my phone with my tired blurry eyes and I thought why does Flo want me to put a brass gravy boat on my coffee table? Then figured out it’s a bird! I like these ideas and will use them. So I’m only using the taller vase right? The vase is 11.81” tall and the MC candlestick with its candle is 13” tall. Enough of a difference? I also found this tray on Etsy. I like the octagon shape a lot. And she will customize it whatever dimension you want. So I’d probably order the other items, place them together and see what kind of width for the tray I need. This comes in black too. @flo mangan Oh the vase will look taller with the branches! (Hope my cats don’t eat them!)...See Moreleelee
