That's what I had to do when I did this fix recently. Remove the screen, remove the stationary panel, remove the sliding panel. I then removed the rollers and determined what size to buy, but because I didn't have the time to go get the rollers that day, and didn't want to leave the opening open overnight, I reassembled the door, with the broken roller. Then a day or two later when I had the replacement, I didn't want to go through the same effort to remove the doors, I tried lifting the end of the door with the bad rollers (carefully) and used a mini-prybar and a small hammer to tap the bad rollers out of the slot. This may only have worked because I had already removed it earlier, so that it was less stuck in place.

I would look at white plantation shutters for the windows and a Vertiglide on the slider since you use it every day. I would then either add a cornice over the Vertiglide or some drapery side panels. Now if you have young children I am going to change my Vertiglide recommendation to a vertical. I know no one like verticals but if you have sticky little hands, you want to be able to clean the blind easily! When they have grown to the point where you don't have to worry about that anymore, then you can move to a Vertiglide or something else. I was never a fan of slider doors and agree that going back with a swinging door is best. Two 36" doors would be my first choice. If swinging at either end won't work,one can be swung from center. Alternatly,you can install two fixed plus one swinging door. You can choose single pane glass with or without deviders in 1-2 or all three positions. Two 24" slabs fixed at each end plus one pre-hung 32" hinged at center position equal's 80" of door,leaving 16" for jambs and trim. The configurations are endless if you hire a good carpenter.

We are remodeling two bathrooms in a condo and replacing bathtubs with step in showers. We love the look of the Basco Rotolo semi-frameless dual bypass glass sliding doors shower enclosure. However, we want to see how the sliding doors for this enclosure appear and how they feel before placing the order. We visited or called every dealer in our Tri-state area but not one has the doors on display because they are a new 2018 model.
