Need to remove glass sliding door so I can replace rollers

I've got a sliding glass door in my kitchen and it's very difficult to open and close. I can tell that the rollers are gone. I already raised the rollers up using the screw at the bottom of the door but I still can't lift the door out. On this door there is a high lip on the kitchen side and I can't lift it up over that, on the exterior side which faces a back porch I could lift it out but the stationary panel is in the way. Do I need to remove the stationary glass panel or am I missing something? How do I remove that panel? I've included some pics, the kitchen side has the white vinyl floor in the pics. Thanks for any help.

You may find screws at top which lower top rollers allowing door to lift higher. If finished floor isn't higher than inside track,bottom of door might slide into room after all rollers are fully retracted. Otherwise fixed door must be removed.

I can't tell if the threshold is part of the original door or added during installation. Looks like removing the fixed door and going to the outside is your best option.

I had the warranty and model numbers from the sticker that was already on the door, so they were able to match it up exactly. Can't recall the manufacturer offhand, but I can find that out.

I got sliding panels and shutters. I can still open the shutters if I recline the seats as shown andI I have no reason to open the shutters other than for occasional cleaning. The windows are rarely ever opened I like the way they look, but the verticals are a bit too sheer at night. There is not enough privacy. I went outside after dark and I could see inside more I would like with the panels closed. The same panels were installed on a bedroom slider so privacy is extra important there. . I'm looking for a solution. I'm going to talk to the installer on Monday to see if they have any ideas other than replacing the panels with "black out" panels. Maybe there is a way to put a separate roll down shade behind it that will add night privacy and still allow light filtering in the daytime?

I agree with Fori, you are talking to the wrong sales people. For years early in my career, seems almost all I did was change out sliders to french doors. For your opening size and situation, you could use several combinations of door and sidelight combos. For example, a pair of 32" swinging french, with a 32" fixed sidelight. If your rough opening won't accept that, perhaps a 30" sidelight and/or 30" doors.

If you already have a double pane door, the problem may not be the door. Before going into expense of adding another layer of drywall to the walls and ceiling and replacing the door, I would check other things. Like bathroom exhaust fan ducting...is it insulated? HVAC ducts. Plumbing vents. Gaskets on all the exterior wall switches & receptacles as well as ceiling lights. Recessed light cans? Pull a piece of door/ window trim and check that the space between the jamb and framing is insulated.

That's what I had to do when I did this fix recently. Remove the screen, remove the stationary panel, remove the sliding panel. I then removed the rollers and determined what size to buy, but because I didn't have the time to go get the rollers that day, and didn't want to leave the opening open overnight, I reassembled the door, with the broken roller.

Then a day or two later when I had the replacement, I didn't want to go through the same effort to remove the doors, I tried lifting the end of the door with the bad rollers (carefully) and used a mini-prybar and a small hammer to tap the bad rollers out of the slot. This may only have worked because I had already removed it earlier, so that it was less stuck in place.

Thanks for the replies, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to remove that stationary panel. I'll do what bob_c did and remove everything then figure out what rollers I need. Thanks
