Sometimes I think admitting that things are not ok is very brave. Many of us do not want to burden others with our woes. I personally often feel that others don’t want to hear my problems. That’s just my perception, I don’t know why. Let’s face it, there are those who are just inveterate whiners and I don’t want to be seen that way. However, it is so helpful to share, to get things off our chest., to know that people hear us and care. Sometimes I post here when I need to unload.

What a year it’s been. If 2021 could just be boring and uneventful I would love it. I do feel for everyone, it seems everyone I know has had some extra hardships and burdens thrown their way. Some can be recovered from. Unfortunately, because of this horrid virus, not all.

I'm okay.....all things considered.

I'm with marilyn on this.......I am okay as well. Things could be a lot worse :-)

I have a family member that is going through a pretty tough time this year (actually started last year) that involved a major shift in lifestyle. He has had a hard time accepting it and the fam worries about him. He is not good about reaching out so we call frequently......just checking in........and my usual greeting is "how's it going?". That is typically enough of a prompt to get him to reveal what has been bugging him and open up some.

Oddly, he has always assumed the role of family counselor and was the one everyone else sought out for advice. His words and advice have helped me enormously over the years and I am glad to do whatever I can to help him through this rough patch and accept the limitations of his new life.

Sometimes just reaching out and connecting with a sympathetic ear is all that is necessary :-)

Part of the reason I can say that I'm OK is right here: The KT. I'm Thankful.

I'm ok but very bored and at times a little depressed however I'm safe, warm, have food to eat and not in any serious pain. Its ok, I'll survive.

The husband of a friend of mine died recently and I googled things to say when I meet up with her and one of the questions to those who you know won't open up is "How are you doing today" - emphasis on today. Apparently it's easier to answer a question that's focused on a narrow time frame than a general wider time frame.

I had a miscarriage when I was in my twenties. My sister knew but I never talked about it until maybe 5 years ago. The only thing I ever wanted to be in life was a Mom but that never happened again. Now I talk about it.
