Small end table ideas, please
Comments (16)Old Gardener, I have an iron table like the one you linked to. And I'd use it in my bedroom except our bed is a platform storage bed, and I cannot slide anything under it. I also like the hospital bed serving tables on wheels. I really am fond of things on wheels these days. I have a lot of photos on my camera which I cannot upload or even get off the camera, because I don't have the cable that will let me connect to my computer. Now where did I put that cable!!!!...See MoreOpinions Please on this End Table (pic heavy)
Comments (9)I love your inspiration picture, and it seems that you're half way to reaching your goal, but I'm completely mystified by your purchase of these modernized Southwest style end tables!!! Even if you strip them and refinish them, they're never going to complement the items you have already selected. They're very dated for the room & brutal compared to the graceful lines of your new furniture. I think your ID was on the right track in suggesting the EA table (maybe bit heavy in proportions & too $$ IMO) that complemented the lines of the furniture already selected, but you already have plenty of 90 degree corners in your room, and I'd suggest some relief from that with round shapes. Also, you're not obligated to have matching end tables, just complementary ones. I just went through table selections from Houzz and found these tables that might work for your installation. I'd recommend an oval shaped coffee table instead of a square or rectangular shaped one.. I like the Benson table & the lines of he French Brasserie table from Restoration Hardware which it comes in lots of sizes, some on sale for less than $395, discount if you purchase more than one. If you don't like the metal top, you can always add a glass round to the top to make it special. In addition, though I like the sparkle of a mirror, I don't think a large one over the sofa was a good choice. Take a look in your picture & see what the mirror reflects......people walking into you room and the piano on the opposite wall. I would replace it with a vertical mirror/s behind the end table/s and tall slender lamps when your sofa arrives to raise the eye in your room. Maybe a lovely artwork selection or art grouping over the sofa, (not family photos). Are you planning to eliminate your sheers? I'll bet it's been 20 years since I last recommended sheers to a client. Yesterday I saw some striped grey beige drapery panels at West Elm on sale. They're just cotton, but the horizontal stripe would be effective in your room & add a bit of whimsy. Okay, probably more than you wanted to hear but I can't really ever turn off being a designer. Comments (25)butterflyjlv : thanks for the thank you. Here is another possible option for microwave cabinet on right of window side. above walls: 30 wide (42" high) below bases: 15 drawer then 2 ( 30 w bases) If this is the only cabinets in the kitchen, I highly suggest going to 42" tall with no crown to get an extra storage : 1 extra shelf per cabinet. Also under lighting really is functional as well. Here is a photo example how 42" white shaker look with no crown. I agree with yvonnecmartin (cookie sheet somewhere is useful) Don't forget fillers on adjacent side walls, they're functional, too. Hope that helps :)...See MorePlease help! End table too small?
Comments (43)The positives of this layout is that if you put a TV or large beautiful art on the far wall, that would be the first thing seen. Then you also have space to put a couple stools at the bar counter. So it depends on how much you use this room and how people sit in here. I thought there was a front door on this floor?? At any rate, you have what you have so you now have the 3 basic ways you can handle this sectional and it is up to you how you want to use it. However, this is my favorite layout. I realize it would be a little walk to enter the space possibly, but once in the space you would have access to the bench and seating and you could even put both ottomans at the window and seat a large number of people. So, just depends on how you want to use the room. The focal point in the room is the long wall. So, keep the focus on that wall no matter how you arrange the furniture....See MoreMama Cita
