Need rug design advice on living room

I just ordered from RTG 2 Bedford Park sofas (Ivory). I have a coffee table that is a distressed teak top ( lighter-toned wood ) with an aged bronze metal frame. I have 2 dobies and would love a 10 x 13 rug but am afraid to get natural jute as they seem rough on the feet. Any suggestions? I love the bohemian feel/California surf bungalow look if that makes sense. -excuse the look- we just moved in and didn't realize that the lead time on lv furniture would be back-ordered 3 months. The only thing I do love about it is my coffee table right now. The curtains will be leaving as well. I want something more natural.

Ideally no- right now it’s a cool light gray. Too cool for me - My husband likes accent walls in darker colors - I am more of all white walls type

Thanks all, and Tibbrix, I hope I remember re: beaters! I know, the dog blends into so much around here. Malabacat- I thought it could use colour too, but the brightening up seems to help. I have a teal/cream throw I'm going to toss somewhere in the living room. That should spice things up :) thanks lynn2006-I do see how it balances better. I just hate covering up the hardwoods. DH was opposed as well, but he's already been seen cuddling with the dog and the kid on the rug a couple times today :)

Very nice indeed! & if you plan on spending much time in the chair, I would position it to enjoy the nice view, just like the sofa. It is so neutral, I think just about anything will coordinate w/ it. Just sayin'...

Your room is coming along nicely. I do think you need some color and pattern for movement and interest. One thing you can do, if a large wool is too expensive is to layer it on top of a Seagrass rug. I did this in my living room and love the options it gives me to change out rugs while leaving the Seagrass rug as a backdrop. Like this, You can angle a smaller rug, too. I was surprised to find some interesting rugs at West Elm recently. These have a slight southwestern feel (which normally I am not a fan of AT ALL), but colors are really muted. They have other examples of these somewhat faded looking rugs that I really like.

I’ve had good luck finding rugs I like from Room and Board, also Rejuvenation. Better quality & more interesting than most IMO.
