I'll show you mine/you show me yours - Sa 11/14

Chain reaction Saturday.

Pick one specific thing in the prior photo to inspire yours.

You may caption yours to help trigger the next inspiration.

It helps to reference the poster's pic that inspired yours so others see the chain.

The chain need not be linear. The fun is to see where it takes us from where we started.

Little story attached to this archway:-

This archway to Norwich Cathedral was built by citizens as penance for arson and rioting, which had been sparked by some monks taking it upon themselves to murder some rowdy local revellers in 1272.

Henry III had to intervene due to ongoing tensions and killings, and ended up siding with the monks. In addition to making the city pay a fine and build the archway, he had 30 of the riot ringleaders executed.

I thought today would be 'frost or ice' so I had a picture in mind. I'm hoping you'll let me use it today still.

I'll use one of the doors above.

This is frost on my aluminum door heading out to the fire escape

Arches reminded me of the basket handle at the Longaberger Baskets Homestead in Ohio. Yup, that’s my profile picture.

The New Bridge over the gorge in Ronda, Spain. Defenestration was performed from the windows under the arch, which was used as a prison. Those sentenced to death were shoved out the windows.

nhbaskets....I love that picture. I have a couple Longabergers and I love them.

Do you remember when they had the "Longaberger" home parties and sold

them? I had a niece that did that for awhile. Can't remember, was that the only

way to get them? Kind of fun. :)

Uptown Gal-they started with home parties, then they opened the Homestead in Ohio where they sold special baskets and home goods. We go to Ohio every summer, so I made it a point to visit. You can now purchase older baskets online, at a much reduced price than they originally sold for. I began collecting in 1989 and stopped counting when I hit 100. Please don’t judge. ;) The company closed, but has now reopened with new ownership and you can buy them on QVC.

NHbaskets...I have what I think was called a "catalog basket", and a 'bread

basket.' Both the same medium brown. I think I got them pretty close to

the same time you started collecting. :) I have used them ever since in

one way or the other and they still look good as new. :)
