Air fryer garlic chicken drumsticks that turned out amazing

My living room, after some recent moving around I'm finally happy with it. For now.

my compost has been hot for 3 weeks...what should I expect?

Turning it will speed up the composting. You'll know its done when the temp is the same as the outside temperature. I'd quit adding stuff, and just let the microbes do their own thing. I think you should turn it fairly often, so the heat doesn't just decompose stuff in one place.

My kids, of course. Camryn just because she's always happy. She loves to be chased and it makes me smile. Grant because he's adorable and funny. He was so excited to be at the pet store, and at Target munching on popcorn as we shopped, at Toys R Us trying out new bikes, swimming at our friends swim school and riding his bike to the park with daddy tonight. Seeing him so happy made me smile.

What Has Everyone Been Doing This Week

    Q

Hi Marilyn Sue! I've worked a few days..working one more, tomorrow. Tuesday we sent our exchange student to Washington D.C. and then he went home to Turkey. I still haven't cleaned his room up. I was up nearly 30 hours the day before and that day because I had to work an weird evening shift the day before he left for the airport. I took a short nap in the afternoon because I couldn't stay awake any longer. Oh, no...people are shooting off fireworks. D@mn, I thought they would know by now they weren't supposed to do that in town anymore. Lauren is in Chicago till tomorrow with a friend. She got to go to China town today. I'm so jealous. So, had the house to myself for the last few days. So, now going to hope they quit with the fireworks so I don't have to call the police and can sleep.

The Hoya gods smiled on me twice this week

I too feel the hoya God's have smiled on me recently. My best friend passed away a couple days ago (She was 24, so am I) very unexpectedly. I have truly been having a terrible time dealing with it, but only 2 days after Heaven gained an angel I was doing my usual rounds and found one single bloom on my Bella. I didn't even notice she was in bloom but usually when she is all the buds open in the same day. This one little flower staid open for 4 days almost as if in tribute to my dear friend before the others followed suit. Then today I was doing rounds again and noticed my OLDDDD carnosa (I call her Betty) has little buds on some of her peduncles! Nice find btw! What a beautiful full plant :)

Lucille, did you see the recent SNL skit with Adele and the psychic? It was hilarious. I've watched it few times on YouTube. The Village People skit was also hilarious. Keenan and also Kate never fail to make me laugh. She is so versatile.

My smile for today was getting my xmas décor from the attic. I normally put my trees up on December 1st, but since there is nothing normal about this year, my house will be decorated before this weekend. I normally host the holiday dinners for my kids, spouses, other family and friends, but this year due to covid, it will be just DH and I. We have planned to Zoom with everyone for dinner.

Getting free arena time this week with "my" school horse so we could simply have fun and learn from each other. Winning the battle of the side pass with her when opening and shutting the gate. The feel of her transition smoothly into a joyful canter, perfectly in sync with me.

Learning our old plumber who moved will still come to us.

Getting my hair done at my hairdresser's new place.

Very pleased so far with my new Panasonic toaster over that replaced the failing Cuisinart.

Seeing my super smart Rottie get the spin command in three languages without hand signals. Watching her being such a good mommy to her imaginary puppy.

Dreaming of my next road trip when this is all over.

I've had a week full of smiles.

Enjoyed a walk today with a good friend for interesting conversation and fresh air, being mindful of physical distancing. It was an especially pleasant way to get my 10,000 steps.

Made spatzle noodles for dinner today to go with our chicken stew and it was delicious!

Having weather mild enough to do some extra gardening chores was nice. Rain coming today, so the plants I moved should be happy. And my yucca is in full bloom, with a few bees at its blossoms. It's odd to me that it doesn't bloom in mid summer like all the other yuccas around here, but so it goes.

Strolling aimlessly through this beach town in beautiful mild weather yesterday made me smile. It felt so good to engage in a long conversation with one of the shopkeepers. Other than my family, I have not really spoken to anyone in ages. Even better It is another picture perfect day for strolling.

Glenda, feel better. Don't let the ickies get you down. You are resilient and strong. You can count on me.

My 11-month-old grandson. I see him and his brothers occasionally outdoors, but I haven't been able to hold him and I've missed milestones like laughing and crawling. When my daughter-in-law mentioned this week that he's been walking, I expressed amazement and said something like, "I haven't even seen him crawl!" So she lifted him out of his stroller and put him on my lawn. And there, in the grass and in his socks, he gave me the cutest demonstration.

Two things stand out. I have a Ring doorbell and got a notice that someone was at my door. Turned out to be the little two year old girl from next door, talking to the stone bunny on my bench. Then she walked back down the walkway, stomping on leaves the whole way.

Last night I was cleaning out a drawer and came across some papers my son had written when he was little. They were so sweet and some were hilarious.

Noticing the little things. The trees are gorgeous. My kitty is still with me and purring. Friendly neighbors. My home office is set up as my work office now. I feel more like working during work hours and it's separating the two halves of my whole rather than work all the time, and what day is it? Wait, wait, wait. I forgot! I fixed the lawnmower. Me, I did it.

Like mdln, finding out that other countries were happy for us. Nice surprise.

We got a foot of snow this past weekend. While that in and of itself doesn't make me happy, the fact that between all of us, we got it cleared and no one is more than sore is smile-worthy. None of us are getting any younger!

I talked to my son a few days ago. It is heartwarming that he is thoughtful and knowledgeable about current events. It has been a horrible year for many, but like seeing a snowdrop poking through the snow, I see little sprouts of hope everywhere.

I really do love living here. I moved here just over a year ago, and I never thought I would ever move off the coast, but I love it here. It is absolutely beautiful, and the nicest people I have ever met. I have lived in Texas all my life, and I am used to nice people, but up here, they are even more so. Very helpful and kind.

We have had some ridiculously stunning weather...sunny and in the 70s when it would normally be in the 50s. Having that kind of weather to put the flower beds down and rake leaves has been phenomenal.

It was so nice that we actually had a patio sit with our neighbors the other night and it was so pleasant. Don't expect to be able to do that until maybe April at this point.

Not a day goes by that Georgy doesn't make me smile. I love greeting her every morning! Tuesday I went out for lunch with my Mexican Train group. We haven't been together since February. We had to hurry up while we could still eat outside. That was not only a big smile for all of us, but lots of laughs, too.

80+ bags of leaves collected for the garden.

Little kid about 3 years old reaching just overhead to push her baby sib's stroller down the sidewalk.

Me too. Being banned by POV for a courteous disagreement has made me grateful for being here. Heck, if threads are going to disappear in both places, I might as well stay in a place that I've been for decades.

Seeing some people on a local chat board start a thread to help others, the people responding listed a real need and the group tried to help. There have been amazing heroes in this pandemic, each trying with the resources they have available to help.
