Mixing cool & warm colors especially with Holiday decor

As the Holidays approach & people seem to be going right from Halloween to Christmas décor, I am sorting through my stuff to see what I need to edit & what to buy. But this applies to overall décor as well.

I am more of a casual, lived in , country look. I see so many beautiful inspiration picks where people mix all sorts of colors & make it work. Some have all white backdrops, some have lots of wood, & some have a combination of both. I see a lot of white & black, white & red, white & blue, mixed into an overall warmer color palette & it works. But how do they do this? I know a lot of people, myself included, buy things to see if they work & return if they don’t, but this is sucking the energy out of me.

A friend of mine has a predominantly Tuscan look in her home, yellows, golds & of course adding a blue & white would not go. My sister has a beachy feel, all greys & blues, so adding warm red, green is not going to go. But, for those who don’t want t be locked into a specific color scheme…what do we do? How do we make it work?

These folks do such beautiful work doing so.
