mixing cool and warm rooms in a house

Hi all -

I've been reading through some old posts and I just love looking at everyone's pictures, they have been really helpful.

We moved into our house a year ago and I thought I liked their painting, but have decided it's just not my style.

Our trim and floors are a honey-goldish oak/maple (no red in them). Our kitchen is a celery green which I absolutely love with raspberry accents, but the rest of the house is a total mis-match. I'd like to keep the kitchen as is, but want to start painting the rest of the house using some of the warmer neutral tones I've seen in pictures such as the "wheat" or "buff". Is this a decorating no-no to have a cool room with other warmer rooms? The kitchen area is separate from the house so the walls wouldn't touch.

I'd love to hear other people's opinions.

Thanks so much!

Gisela
