What Color Roof - Pale Yellow Siding & Brick
Comments (13)Hi, What a cute little house! No worries, sometimes the coloring doesn't come out so well on the monitor and will look completely different in person. I can see why you chose the palette that you have though, it's exactly what I thought before I read your response. We have a 2 story colonial and the color of our siding is very similar to the color you have. We don't have any brick though, so we went with a Certainteed Roof in a medium toned charcoal color that has a touch of the brick color mixed in it. Without the brick the color looks great with the siding; our trim is all white as well. I almost think if you went with a lighter color on the trim it would offer a little more pop to the whole elevation. I know you didn't ask for this next suggestion but I think it would also look cute to have something flanking the door on each side. Usually people have lighting but if that's not possible, maybe you can hang some baskets on hangers or something. I think the brick just needs something more to help it blend in with the rest of the front. I love your landscape and how the gardens are layered with color. Very pretty....See MoreHalf Orange brick - half beige siding
Comments (12)Shutters are a no go on this house. None of the windows are appropriate for shutters. I'm in the don't paint the brick group. You take a no maintenance product and turn it into a long term maintenance issue. Some ideas: A darker color on the siding that doesn't emphasize the difference between the orange brick and the rest of the house would be a good option. A new front door that was not a Victorian leaded glass style (think Mid Century Modern MCM) would also be an upgrade. A porch over the front door would add some depth to the front façade of the house. Pulling all the landscaping (including the woody shrubs on the side of the house) and redoing it. 5) Stain the fence between the house and the garage to tie them together more. 6) Paint the garage door a color that makes it less obvious. Also get rid of the dark brown trim. Comments (5)Do not paint brick. It is likely to cause damage to the brick over time, and painting has to be redone about every 10 years. Your brick is a nice neutral color. However, if you must color it, use a paint made for brick like this ONE with a 20 year warranty. Here are some of the colors offered by this company. I would get rid of the shutters. Your windows are too wide, so shutters don't make sense. Instead, paint the trim around them to make them pop. If you can replace the trim with wider trim all the better. You can also paint the fascia and the vertical corner trim to add contrast. You can paint the door black as well, or choose a separate stand out color for the front door. Comments (7)The house looks quite modern so I would probably do a dark gray from the brick I also would not do the white for trim or garage doors so maybe a bit mor einfo as to your style . IMO you could go a bit MCM with dark windows and a dark garage door with some glass in it. So this type of color and garage door style of course in the same color as the siding . Gutters are never meant to be decor so the same color as the siding . Please cover that arched indent in the brick and then some bg house #s that you can actually see from the street . The landscaping and if going in the MCM direction then use this as inspiration...See MoreMary TheMom
