Hi, and thanks for responding. Our old windows are 30 year old aluminum frame picture windows that were in the house when we bought it. We were hoping to replace at least the back of the house this year, but since we are currently updating our kitchen we thought we would start there. It has a small window and I thought a bow window would make the kitchen look larger and with casement side lites we could also have some ventillation. It is the casement that restricts some makers. The panes have to be so narrow that there is not enough room for the mechanism.

From Curtains Now your back is to the entry, looking down the length of the room to the TV end. We hope to get a wall-hung TV sometime in the next year, after prices fall. Nothing is set in stone, except, obviously, places for the dogs to alight! * We need to keep the big dog crate as our oldest and youngest are suddenly not getting along and cannot be in the same room unless one is crated. So sad, but it's better than adopting one out. * We've very willing to buy a new rug/rugs. The circular rug clearly does not belong. It's an inexpensive polypropylene one that we use at the entry because it cleans up well. We were just trying to see what a 5' rug would cover, space-wise. * The other small rug can go back to its original spot, too. * The black chair by the bookcases (in front of the light) will also go somewhere else. *The black chest behind the dog crate goes away, too. *Here's my favorite chair that used to be in the room, but doesn't seem to fit now. Thanks for the post and mention. Bow window pricing depends a good bit on operator choices, options, and sizes. That unit is a full removal and you will need to determine what type of unit would fit best there. I 5-lite will look a bit bulky and have a good bit of frame as compared to the existing wood structure. Feel free PM me directly and I can give you an idea of what we would normally see as a range up here and what you might expect where you are located. We try to keep pricing discussions to a minimum as they can be misleading for future readers of the forums if they live in a different market or conflate the numbers.

I used to make custom Romans, however, I did buy wood blinds from Smith and Noble. Their customer service is really great. The strings broke on one of the blinds years later and they actually replaced it for free. Also, when I first ordered it, there was a small problem that was my fault, and they also took care of that for free. Highly recommend also. I also measured and installed myself, so can't comment on that part.
