Bow Window

I have the very same window featured on WOW web page that he replaced. WOW,, could you give me a ball park figure to replace mine here in Central Va. I have another window about the same size too. Both are in pretty good shape but single pane. Thanks..

Thanks for the post and mention.

Bow window pricing depends a good bit on operator choices, options, and sizes.

That unit is a full removal and you will need to determine what type of unit would fit best there. I 5-lite will look a bit bulky and have a good bit of frame as compared to the existing wood structure.

Feel free PM me directly and I can give you an idea of what we would normally see as a range up here and what you might expect where you are located.

We try to keep pricing discussions to a minimum as they can be misleading for future readers of the forums if they live in a different market or conflate the numbers.

I used to make custom Romans, however, I did buy wood blinds from Smith and Noble. Their customer service is really great. The strings broke on one of the blinds years later and they actually replaced it for free. Also, when I first ordered it, there was a small problem that was my fault, and they also took care of that for free. Highly recommend also. I also measured and installed myself, so can't comment on that part.

The reason I like the blinds is that when it's sunny it's actually too bright in the room. I like the fact that I can control the light coming in. I was thinking of doing just straight curtains. The problem is that the window is so big that I have to install a 3rd hook in the middle to hold up the curtain rod. It looks unfinished to me. When I added the sheers it helped to hide the center hook. I wonder if I'm doing something wrong with the curtain rods or perhaps I have the wrong rod. Thanks for all your suggestions. I appreciate you taking the time to respond!

Thank you for responding @Patricia Colwell. The reason for the traverse rod is that the shears will open uniformly. I google until I'm out of google steam and find no photos from the exterior. I'd like to see that vantage in order to make the best decision

Hey There: sure it can be done... You can go from 90 degrees angle to much less and have the wall appear on a radius. It all depends on the current situation. Best of Luck
