My husband I just purchased our first bed together and he has given the me the go ahead to splurge on buying a new quilt (and we will eventually replace our existing linens/duvets etc). We're looking for something to last a long while, right now I've been looking at Coyuchi's Twilight Quilt i love the organic, soft aesthetic. But if anyone has any other suggestions for a high quality product please let me know! We'll add a new duvet/insert later, that's some serious $$$. This is our bedroom (the photo is from the perspective of the bed (it's in a nook with our office/book public space on the other side). Excuse the mess , crooked picture and the artistic toddler work on the white walls which will be repainted this week : ) We're remodeling our entire house and acquiring furniture etc. so it's a decorate and acquire slowly as we go. Fun, but lots of room for improvement and more art! I love the white color quilt, but I'm terrified about the dirt factor. I think the gray may be too cool. You see my old waverly quilt which is 15+ years old, it's held up great, but is finally starting to show its age. Plus it will be too small for our new bed : ( HALP!!! Please!

I would paint it the same dark color as your roof gutters.

North facing rooms will be dark most of the day and pick up purple tones from any paint. I would look carefully at the undertones and the formulas to ensure you don't have a lot of red and blue if you can't tell from the paint itself. I had a home with a north facing kitchen that I actually wanted to bring out the purple in so I purposefully went with a barely periwinkle gray that appeared full on periwinkle in that space. I suspect you don't want purple in your room. North facing rooms will also make your color appear deeper so you want something with a high light reflective value. My vote is for BM Gentle Cream.

BeverlyFLADeziner thank you! I was eyeing grey as our neighbor has a grey roof with similar toned bricks to ours - but again, I know nothing about scheming colors! I hate how dated our home looks and am hoping a change of roofing, siding, and gutters will help. I do love your suggestions - are you thinking your second suggestions works best? I am feeling like that may be best just like you and houssaon suggested, and simply matching the gutters and trim with our soffits so we don't have a ton of colors going on. Also, do you have a company I can leave google/facebook reviews on? I wasn't able to find anything for BeverlyFLADeziner. Would love to post a review for you!
