Hi sherwhy, Sorry it took me some time to come back to the thread. Yes this Antique Ivory is white washed finished with oil. In this collection, there are 2 other floorings with white wash on a dark floor base, called Antique Ebany and Costa. I am sure that is kind you described. Hi Steph2000, We do not recommend any wood flooring installed in any full bath as a business, engineered or solid. But that particular picture is from a DIY Network show "Bath Crashers" which used us as their flooring supplier. In that case, as long as the show designer specs the product, we supply. We have another engineered wood flooring being used in another show called "BATHtastic" Both floors were done in Minneapolis Stpaul area for couple years now. So far so good. In my opinion, kicthen and entry will be perfectly fine to put in wood floorings. Area rugs will help. Good comments from both you. Hope to hear from you again.

Stacey, you have such an interesting house! Your furniture looks modern, yet somehow traditional. I don't know how to say what I want to say... And I love the lamp with the blue base. I just bought one similar and am totally in love with it. Who knew? I really like the Edgecomb Gray on the monitor, as well as the Revere Pewter. I think both of these colors contribute to an eclectic yet contemporary feel that is warmed up by the old school type fireplace. I do have a suggestion. Instead of white built-ins, why not consider having the bookcases painted in the wall color you choose? With the black slate as a centerpiece, I think it may be too choppy with the white. Particularly if you go with a gray, this might be appropriate. I love all the muted grays and gray whites that Holly does on her furniture (Life in the Fun Lane Blog) as well as Anne Turner's Mouses' Back (Farrow & Ball paint shade a browned gray) kitchen cabinets. That's the kind of thing I'm thinking for you, although maybe lighter, like the Rev. Pewter or the Edgecomb instead of the depth of Mouse's Back. First off I don't see anything wrong but it is your house? The quality of the wood will dictate the finished look. You have a very skinny plank with many shades mixed in which usually means a lower end floor. Think about it, the more time the mfg has to pick and match wood tones the more uniform the floor will look and of course cost. I am not even sure that is white oak? It can be a stretch of the word as theater are planks that are not white oak and most do not look like white oak. When you stain wood it will LOOK EXACTLY as it does before the stain but with a different tone. The only way around this is a very dark gel type stain to even out sap wood. You have a lot of sap wood mixed in which again goes back to the quality of the wood. I am in no way saying you have a cheap floor but when you see pics of a perfect grain matched one tone floor it took a lot of money and labor to get to it. You have a nice floor get the 80's thing out of your head and enjoy.

Hi Stephanie, I have actually used both floors. I installed about 600 ft of the Republic post oak in my in-laws basement about 4 years ago, it’s a great product and I like how it clicks together. It has held up very well, still looks new, except for a small dent about the size of a quarter, not sure how that happened. It’s so small and not noticeable unless you happen to pick something up at that spot, but even then I think I’m the only one who has seen it. This is a SPC product so I’m surprised by this dent, I have no idea how it happened, we don’t live there. I’m guessing someone dropped something fairly heavy. About April of 2021 I also installed about 2400 sq ft of the Cortec grande golden oak in a rental home, it’s nice and feels great to walk on, forgiving but still solid. I like the way the Republic clicked together better than the Cortec. I used the Cortec because of its heft, 15mm, I was looking to stop some of the sound from going down to the basement apartment. Either is a good product, very durable, but I’m not a big fan of LVP for my personal home, I like look and feel hardwood, either solid or engineered and tile in the bathrooms. I have no pets, just grandkids, so we aren’t that rough on floors. Good luck, I think both products you are looking at are great. Good
