Electrolux Icon reviews for 36' gas 6 burner rangetop
Comments (13)We purchased this Electrolux Range and it arrived with the racks not properly welded and they collapsed! We have had the oven repaired >10 times in the first three years. We had a gas leak from a burned out component. Finally we tried to run the self clean and this "fried" the electronics and we could no longer open the oven door. We did not receive adequate support Electrolux ICON. We even called corporate headquarters in the USA and Sweden and the calls were NEVER returned. The exterior of this product with the stainless steel looks great., but the interior components did not hold up! This is the worst appliance we have ever purchased and it is actually dangerous....See MoreBest Rangetop to use with DownDraft System
Comments (6)Dear LiliaRothchild, We thought we could be of some assistance. As stated by others on this thread, overhead ventilation will always work better than a downdraft system. That being said, there are two models of Sealed Burner Rangetops that Wolf has approved for use with our downdrafts, the 30" wide SRT304 and the 36" wide SRT366. These are both all-burner models. Also remember to purchase the required accessory piece, part 810215. This is a transition piece that fits between the SRT and downdraft unit. If you have any further questions or concerns regarding this or any other issue, please contact us directly. You can contact us via phone Mon-Fri. 8:00-5:00 CST at 800-222-7820. We can also be reached via email at CustomerService@SubZero.com. Comments (11)There's another thread that I am linking to below which discusses downdrafts mostly with the Thermador and Dacor. You should read through it carefully, as the opinions are very divergent, with some liking it, and some seeming to detest it. Although I don't think anyone in the thread liked their Dacor downdraft. Also it seems that a hood is still preferable to a downdraft if possible. I think your wanting a Wolf cooktop with a downdraft is just not going to work. You'll spend a lot of time and effort "fitting a square peg into a round hole", and in the end that combo will just be problematic in many different ways mentioned by other posts. My advice to you is to figure another layout for your kitchen that will allow either (a) a cooktop in a counter with a hood, or (b) a cooktop in the island with an island hood that won't block your view. Since you're still in the building stage, there are so many opportunities to reconfigure, and you should have a lot of flexibility and options. Comments (4)We just finished our kitchen reno and have the Wolf 48" with 4 gas burners and double griddle. We were originally going with the 5-burner gas cooktop but after attending a Wolf demo dinner, we decided to move up to the rangetop+griddle. In the two weeks we've been in the kitchen, we've used the griddle to make weekend breakfasts (french toast, hash browns), and burgers. It's been great, through it does take a while to cool down. We like that each half of the double griddle has its own thermostat so we can just turn on one side if we aren't cooking a huge meal. We did a lot of research and reading reviews from people who had the griddle vs. the overlay and in the end, decided the griddle was our preference. I think you have to look at the types of things you cook when deciding if it's the right configuration for you. Also, we put in the E-series single onvection oven and the combi-steam oven. I will write a separate post about the steam oven but I absolutely love it and have used that more than the rangetop so far....See MoreM
