I do think Homeworks is the corporate name for Arhuas but I don't think they own Mccreary Modern. The bulk of the furniture sold at Arhuas is made by Thomas Bain of Conover NC, which makes a fairly nice product most of which is 8 way tied. They may use 5/4 hardwood and or plywood frames. McCreary Modern of Newton, NC is privately owned. They make a pretty nice product,department store clean look, well tailored, but they do use plywood frames and no sag springs. They tend to sell only large retailers such as Crate and Barrel (largest acct), Room and Board (second largest), Arhaus and Macys.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like you got a really nice sofa and great service! They told me about their guarantee, but since companies go out of business these days the guarantee doesn't sway me too much. Anyone have any experience with their leather products? I do like the look of the Preston- tufted tight back- and am wondering about having it done in leather. Another question is: two or three seat cushions? Seems like with two you are limiting seating because no one wants to sit in the middle of a two cushion on the crack. Pros and cons anyone? Thanks.

I have an Arhaus sofa and it has held up very well. Mine is not slipcovered but the cushion covers come off for washing. I just wash mine in warm water and put them in the dryer. The soaf is 8 years old and the only wear that is shows is cat clawing. My big lab used to sleep on it all the time and the cushions are still the same as the day I bought it. They are feather stuffed.

I’m reading common themes above on fabrics. Avoid solvent based cleaning fabrics and know your rub wear numbers. I purchased performance fabric and it is outstanding! Black coffee and mashed in chocolate easily came out with no residual stain left behind. Did my research and chose a fabric that does not pill either. Have 2 sofas (tv watching room) and a dining table that is used on a regular basis purchaed 5 yrs ago, still in perfect shape. People also need to know the difference in leathers. You have lower end bonded leather, regular leathers that are only dyed on the surface, and others that are dyed throughtout the leather. There is something not right about the post with that leather chair. I had dogs, toddlers, hanging all over a real leather chair we owned for 20 years that didn't look like that one. Something is up with that post. Not normal. Take away…do research on foam density, rub wear of fabrics, avoid solvent only clean fabrics, and frame construction…and ask the in-store designer…not just the salesperson. I also had impeccable customer service from Arhaus.
