October in my hosta garden
Ah, 2020 has been a long year. The hostas have enjoyed 2020. Several have gone dormant already, like Warwick Comet and Grand Tiara. Many are looking tattered as they store as much energy in their roots as they can for the winter. Here is Liberty today.

My mother purchased a few at a yard sale and thought I should have one. guapogardener, I have a couple of bush daisies. but they are in a part of my garden that doesn't look so good right now. I purchased the swamp sunflowers at a florida native plant booth in march. They are a fall bloomer. They really are a pretty site to see. The leaves are neat, they feel like sand paper. I was told they do not like full sun, but on they link I attached it says they do. So who knows. Comments (9)Thanks everyone! I think I like it a lot? It's different and "unique" it adds its own something special to my hosta garden for sure! I wasn't sure I would like it so I debated on it for a few minutes but $5 was too good a deal to pass up just because of some barely noticeable frost damage! I relocated it into Luna Moth's old pot. It's bigger. I ordered Cherry Berry today, so I'll need the smaller one I had it in for her. The pot it's in now should (hopefully) last a couple of years? Lots of work involved, but I believe it when you say that your plants are loving your compost! I have to say that I am envious with anyone whose hostas are now gone dormant! I am waiting for a freeze just so I can put my hosta containers away. It's cold and windy and I just don't enjoy the outdoors very much anymore. It's too cold for me! Now about Fragrant Blue, I remember a thread where forum members were discussing whether or not they could smell any fragrance from Fragrant Blue. I was surprised that many said that they could not. Blue mist flower near dusk. The purple is blue-violent, with the camera always renders as more red-violet. Tonight, the flowers photographed at closer to true-color.

3 years agoutog..you're an enabler too Lol..I'll research these hardy camellias..look at these pics..the electric company is replacing the underground lines..no excavating (thank goodness) they pull out the old lines and pull in the new lines..they marked the utilities..you can see why I'm concerned about planting in this area..not much room and lots of utilities..
