I usually add a little Brummel and brown "butter" made from yogurt. Sometimes a little bit of fruit preserves.

I do like sausage gravy and Biscuits but haven't eaten any in ages.

Of the 4, definitely warm with butter. But my favorite is officially a savory biscuit made with some chopped veggies (ie any combo of things like greens, carrot, mushroom, summer squash), a touch of garlic, black pepper and a smidgen of parmesan or sharp cheese.

A good proper biscuit is good just plain, as is, hot from the oven. It should be buttery enough to not need any more butter or any embellishment.

Now the second and third biscuits can have honey, or jelly, or bacon egg & cheese, and those are wonderful as well.

I'm with Skibby! I see that as a Canadian, I haven't experienced some yummy biscuit varieties - sausage, sorghum, gravy, etc.!

If you are really biscuit challenged, try the 2 ingredient biscuits that grandmakarma makes on you tube. 2 cups self rising flour and 2 cups of heavy cream, stirred together, knead about 12-15 times and roll or pat out to about 1" thickness, cut and bake in a buttered pan (I use my cast iron skillets) for about 15 minutes? at 450°F. I wrote this from memory, so double check her you tube video.

McDonalds's sausage biscuit is a BIG go-to when out and about.

Oh, Glenda. I love anything to do with a biscuit. Like it buttered and drizzled with honey or preserves or apple butter. Or just a delicious biscuit with butter only. And the other night had a longing for biscuit and gravy - had not made milk gravy in many, many month. It was so darned good!

@woodrose77 The recipe for cheddar biscuits on the Bisquick box tastes EXACTLY the same as Red Lobster’s famous biscuits. And the best part? They’re drop biscuits...no rolling required!

Plain, or with honey. The biscuits I make already are full of butter, and I brush the tops with it too, before baking.
