Have you tried centering the sofa on the wall, with the art above? Maybe then the lamp can be in the corner by the window. I think your room would look more balanced that way, and the light would be of more use.

Yes we tried but it was a waste of space and then there was a huge opening behind the sectional and the window.

If you're into balance, this probably isn't the best spot for your sectional. What does the rest of your room look like?

Measure the art, and then tape off the measurement above the sofa and take a picture. Then, do the same, but center it to the wall. Post both pictures please. The size of the art will dictate placement.

Pull the sectional away from the window, get a table lamp and find another place for the floor lamp. Those two pieces together are unbalanced. Then you can center a large piece of art.

From this image, the sectional looks squashed in the corner, so you would give better balance to the room if you pulled it away from the window wall and put the floor lamp in the corner. Then you can center the sofa on the wall and add large scale art work. Often times it is best to "float" the furniture and get it away from the wall.
