two Halloween decor ideas
Comments (11)Wasn't it Tam who used allot of the white pumpkins last year? Sure hope she will stop by and post her Fall decor pics for us again this year. She has a blog now, so we might have to head over there to take a peek at her pretty decor items. And lucky us, we have some new posters with us now, so they will have new things for us to enjoy seeing! Yeah! Karen, you really did allot of Fall decorating last year and it turned out so pretty. I was thinking that anything I post will be boring for the gals who were on here last year. I haven't thought of a single new idea yet--guess I'm trying to drag my feet a bit and hang onto summmer awhile longer. For those who had a late Spring this year, I'll bet you really want Summer to stick around for awhile. Luvs...See Morethe SCARY part of my Halloween decor
Comments (22)Yes, Luvs, I've been adding a few witch things to my Halloween stuff. I'm really not into all the usual stuff like ghosts n goblins, jack o' lanterns, etc. but I do love witches and ravens. And of course witches have kitties. LOL. How neat, Kathleen, that you (and Candy) also got married in 1970. And Jane, you ate at the Outback too. ;o) Plus, Nana, some of us really like Dancing with the Stars. I think Candy previously nailed it about our Holiday gang having so many little things in common outside of just holiday decorating. Even the same furniture, or same figurines. Maybe this is why we seem more of a family, or a group of really long-time friends. Time, and distance, matters little it seems, some people are just meant to come into your life and make you feel like kindred spirits. I am always in awe of our group here, and the closeness/caring we share so easily with one another. I doubt any of us expected this when we found this Forum, we just wanted to share some Holiday decorating! ;o) By the way, here's the flowers Jas and Suz sent...and the two dolls I kept from my Mom's collection. These dolls come named, so that is Victoria on the left and Rebecca on the right. The photo is my Mom when she was in her early 20's, and the cat pair are very old figurines I found at an antique show about 25 yrs ago. (My mom loved cats) hugs, Karen...See MoreAre you decorating for Halloween this year?
Comments (89)Well, I live on a street in a small town that gets 100's if not a thousand trick-or-treaters. It is great fun and even though I fill my giant bowl to the brim, twice, we always run out of candy. So I overly decorate because it's just plain fun and there is obviously an audience for it which makes it even more fun. I line the front wall with jack o'lanterns. Their flickery flame inside makes the pumpkin smell and look amazing. I happen to love the smell of a burning pumpkin. I I have ghosts hanging in the trees and a skeleton on the front porch. We have a another ghost that travels overhead when it senses noise and also have a fog machine. I have more jack o'lanterns leading up to and onto the front porch and I play really loud Halloween music like the Monster Mash and scary organ music- Bach for all to hear. There's a scarecrow in one corner of the yard and we have some of those projection lights that light up the skeleton. Inside I have my mantle done up with all sorts of vintage Halloween decorations and some crows that caw when you walk by....See MoreOutdoor landscaping / decor ideas....
Comments (4)Based on the current perspective, I would plant flowering vines that suit the conditions. You don't say where you are located or what kind of sun exposure you have there to get more specific plant suggestions. Adding photos that show what is to the left and right of this spot might get better ideas. The current view is largely of hardscape and I would want to soften that with plants, but you may have a good balance from another view. If you look out on this area from windows indoors, I would definitely add plants. Adding a TV (which is an idea I don't find appealing) would involve digging up a bunch of stuff to run power out there unless you already have it. That seems like a lot of disruption of finished work....See MoreSofia Shan
