Comments (40)That area of Pennsylvania has taken an economic beating. Just not a lot there to draw people in, and it's a higher-priced home for that market. My mom was from a coal town not too far from there and it's not exactly a booming area anymore. Regarding the taxes...well, it's Zillow, so I'd almost guess it's more of a Zillow problem/correction than anything else. I live in New York and for years Zillow only showed a tiny fraction of what my real property taxes were. Then one day they got their heads out of their bottoms and realized there was a whole other bill they weren't accounting for in their Zillow data. If you look at my house today, you'll see a similar huge tax jump....See MoreEXTERIOR PAINT BRICK ROW HOUSE
Comments (21)So the brick is already painted (yes, unfortunate), so I must paint. The windows/trim will be white. Should I keep the corbels and portico white to match soffit, and then do a medium gray body (any SW color options??) with either a black, charcoal, or bright blue or red door?...See MoreExterior Paint Color for Lovely Tudor House
Comments (5)Unfortunately, the paint is chipping, and buyers at this price point require move in ready. Not to mention I am at risk of being fined by my HOA for chipping paint as of today. We are not selling till spring. Leaving as-is is a nice thought, though. Would love some color suggestions that would enhance the house....See MoreReal estate pros/designers, best color to paint exterior to sell fast?
Comments (98)After some thought and soul searching this evening, I decided to paint a color that I love while also showing respect for the Victorian style (and will fit in with the neighborhood). I love how you worded it @liasch "goodbye gift" to the home. I need to rethink my strategy but I will say that I've learned a lot about color, architecture, and most importantly exploring the creativity that you all shared with me. Where should I go from here? Should I create a new post? Should I include all the house colors around me? When looking for a professional designer for services, what are some questions I should ask so I know I won't get scammed or be disappointed? Thank you everyone who contributed to this discussion. I've learned a lot here!...See MoreL
