I was asking recently about a hood and small pendants (older thread). My solution involves the symmetry of two small pendants working with the hood. I like high-hats for their unobtrusive lighting, but my personal taste is to have something decorative providing some light and some style at the same time. I say yes, do a pendant. It's hard to visualize your space, but from the description I'm thinking a long bar light over the peninsula, and the hood over the island.

Depends on the room the chandy is in. In a more contemporary home, I'd probably use the white sleeves. Nothing to really keep clean. Dust the chandy once in a while. If you want to actually wash the sleeves, you just remove the bulb and slip the sleeve off and wash them. I have a small chandy like that in my kitchen, which was there when I bought the house. It has the white sleeves. I should change them to the honey, not that I think about it! The dining room chandy I have from Ace Iron doesn't have any sleeves (it's a ring-style chandy, so no pillars/sleeves for the bulbs). OP's house is a 1900s farmhouse, so I'd def. go with the honey or antique if that were my house.

Great looking kitchen space! Are those pendents about 12" wide? if so you would want to hang the pendents about 26" apart from each other and about 30" to 36" above the top of the island. A chandelier like the one JudyG posted Is the right style!! It has soft curves and simple that will help complement the pendents. I would not do anything too boxy. For a 42" round dining table, I would do a chandelier that is 22" to 28" wide, and would hang it about 30" to 32" above the table. Here are a couple of styles and sizes. Good luck! Yes! I looked just for lights in English bronze, but you can certainly try out a different finish too if you like.
