Which gray for cabinet paint remodel?

Redoing cabinets with paint !! For style I like industrial and boho. Hardware is in pic it is like a Aged Pewter Cup style for drawers and knobs for doors. All Walls are Agreeable Gray. The countertops are not being changed and backsplash is interceramic IC Brights Canvas, floor same brand Black Forest Kendall Brown but is a Natural tone. I included a living room and dining room pic to lend an idea of the other features/colors in home.

Left is SW Gauntlet Gray and right is Urbane Bronze. P.S. I do not like white/cream cabinets.

THANK YOU ALL for the great suggestions! I'm definitely going to go lighter for the countertops then! Showed all the comments to my hubby as well to convince him ;) At the warehouse now... just found out slab #3 (light gray and white) has a "smiley face" crack on it :/ I'll have to see if the fabricator can work around it. The "super white" looks super gray here. The frosty carrina looks great but still a little expensive for us :( Aprilneverends-You're so right about the movement on the cabinets! We had painted over builder's oak. That is a big factor that I'm considering when picking the movement on the countertop Aboxofcrayons-I love your cabinets! Is it the distressed wood look? I would love to see your kitchen once the countertops are installed! Oldbat2be- I have laminate right now and there are few burn spots on it too. I'm dying for something new, glossy, and durable :) Torreykm-We had our cabinets painted with a gray stain. I originally wanted a distressed wood or driftwood look. Our GC ended up painting it! We just left it then lol. I can find out which color and brand we used and I can post it here when I get back home :) I'll keep you guys posted! Thanks so much again!!!

Grays work best with white and very dark trim and cabinets. It can be a challenge to get cool grays to work with warm wood tones - they don't bring out the best in each other. Look for warm grays or greens with gray undertones, taupe, and greiges. Warm wood tones look best with whites, cream, creamy beige, blues and greens. Some whites that lean gray might work. The below pic is Maritime White and reads light gray. This green gray may be too dark, but a lighter shade of the same idea might work: This is a lighter one: A white may be a way to go:

Thank you guys. I really appreciate your help. My brain is fried and this decision has to be made immediately. gthigpen....I freaked out when I realized that the white was going to be a mistake. I cancelled it just in time but they are waiting on me to call in the color so it can be ordered. Sad for you that you didn't catch it...I hate regrets. My dd did the same thing with penny tile and white grout. A sea of white. Ugh. It's still pretty but she hates it. Gthigpen and Jackie...I see that you are using several colors of grout. I don't have that in me and I don't have a designer to advise me. I wish I did. Do you think it will be ok to choose one grout color i.e.; Silverado...and use it on all of the tile in three different bathrooms for simplicity's sake??? I have subway in two showers and in one tub surround. And the black and white on three floors and two shower floors. Here are some pics. Please advise and thank you so much for any wise words.

Hindsight is 20/20. Yes I do think it would be better to have waited to paint the fireplace, after choosing a paint. That said, I dont think gray really goes with your beige brown carpet. I also think your tv is way too big to hang above that fireplace. A longer tv stand with a built in fireplace, would probably work, but, thats a lot more money. Maybe try a color on the walls, like a light green, or a cream color, or a very light bluish color, other than gray. I love gray, as long as the grays look gray when you look at the wall. I have a gray living room, after painting it the third time. First two paints looked greenish and wasnt what I wanted. I finally found the right gray for my living room, that does look like gray. Revere pewter is a greige, more than a gray, and may very well go with your carpet, and look good in your room.

I really like the wood tone you have now - it adds some warmth to your rooms (and goes well with your dining table!) And, I agree that the biggest impact could be reached with new counters and backsplash rather than painting cabinets. However, if you are set on painting them one of the two colors you posted, I'd go with the urban bronze - the one on the right.

Like others have said, the grey colors do not look great with the counters. Have you considered a color? My island is SW Pewter Green, I’m attaching a photo of the color. Green is very on-trend right now so you do run the risk of it being “out” eventually, but I think it would look great with your counters and floors.

Totally agree - keep the cabinets and replace the counters!! Fireplace is amazing! I would rethink the cup style and knobs. Consider something the same for both and more sleek and streamlined. We have these in our modernish kitchen and I love them.

@Amaris Castellano Your counters are yellow, and on my monitor, the floors have a pink cast. Those two elements will forever clash. However, I recommend a dark green to try to harmonize the 2. I prefer Vogue Green and Rookwood Dark Green they are yellow-greens. Darb Hunter Green is a full green. Shade Grown has very similar chroma value to agreeable grey, and is also part of the yellow-green family and for those reasons, I think is my favorite. But light changes color so you would have to test to see what you like.

Really !! IMO new counters are a must and if you want gray match the FP gray ,grays are difficult to mix and much better to keep them the same tones.

I like the gauntlet grey but not with your countertops. It seems like testing out some greenish grays or a green might be a good idea. Good luck!
