Personal F1 Hybrid project

I'm looking into the idea of creating my own F1 tomato variety. And was wondering if anyone has attempted this and has any suggestions or warnings.
My reasoning:
1) Hybrids are naturally better. They can be homozygous on as many alleles as needed, and be heterozygous where needed. Open Pollinated cannot.
2) F1's do not come true to seed and must be made. If I don't want to be dependent on seed producers, and I want to ensure I can have seed every year without seeing that my favorite hybrid is either "Sold Out" or discontinued, I need to make them myself.
3) F1's are typically patented. So I need to make my own F1. This means I also need to either find or make my own Parent generation. So, does anyone have any warnings or suggestions that could help me?
