So whadya'all think of the show? __________________________________________________________ I had a hard time watching the story line, 'cause I was too busy trying to look at my hometown in the background to determine where they were. We've been the red-headed step child so long, it was good to see the beauty of Nashville on the screen. Looks like it was filmed in later winter/early spring since the redbuds are in full bloom down on the Riverfront. They were eating in one of our best restaurants, the 100 year old Capitol Grille, on our pedestrian bridge, in the Pinnacle building (the Edgehill label people were in it)... It was nice NOT to see some country rubes running around. They didn't really capture the essence of the Bluebird, but at least it was really in the Cafe. If you go to Bluebird, it's packed, and everyone shushes you all the time. heh I will say they didn't really capture the true Nashville (the Athens of the South). Hardly anyone is in "the industry" here. Most everyone here is a server trying to break into it, having moved here from some place else. She's right in the article below. We are music city, but it's not all music is country. The record label name: Edgehill is an historic area, where Music Row is located, but it's not a real name, I don't think. Good idea though! We are now watching Grace & Frankie and we really enjoy it. I find it to be both different and funny. I resisted when it was first mentioned but I am glad I decided to give it a chance. I enjoyed House of Cards; the first and second seasons were great but the third was less than exciting. I really enjoyed watching the original HOC with was British and first done by the BBC in the late 80s - early 90s. I think I am slow to Netflix but from what I have seen, it's kinda great. We also watched The Paradise which was just OK but we discovered it when we searched for more shows with the actress who is the daughter of Celia in Last Tango, Sarah Lancashire. We found that she was also in Happy Valley which we watched and thought it was very good. Lots and lots of great stuff on Netflix. Have fun and enjoy.

CindyMac, I have to retract my favorable comments re: Handmaids Tale as we just finished watching the 2nd season. Without giving anything away, some character's took a bizarre explicable turn which cheapened the story. And it was torture porn without any emotional relief. To lighten up, we are watching THE QUEER EYE on Netflix. Although some of the antics are a bit MUCH, the transformations are enjoyable.

I enjoy the huge variety of items. On American shows, everything tends to be a sweet, using assigned ingredients. (Bake a pie with one of these fruits, followed by a mad dash by contestants to grab one.) But on GBBO, it's "bake an American-style pie", and the contestants chose their own ingredients and flavors. And the US/Brit differences! I loved the donut episode, with history of the donut trucks. A simple common jelly donut was exotic! And the "tea biscuits" sure looked like Mallomars to me.
