believe it or not, it's too small for that wall. consider moving it to a smaller wall. that wall needs a gallery of objects or a photo gallery.

Like the clock but would lower it so the center is eye level for the tallest person living in the home.

It's fine if you like it, but that wall looks much more suitable for large art. If you keep the clock it needs to be lowered quite a bit so it's not "floating away" from the furniture.

Maybe put it above the doorway and then put something else on that wall.

it could (belong) but not with your two minuscule arm chairs by the wall: the scale is totally off. you may to the place the clock behind the big sofa. but honestly, it is your entire furniture placement that is off. those two little chairs should not be on the opposing wall. they should go to the fire place. move your bookshelf/shelving to the opposing wall, put your TV there. move your clock to the stone facade. then you have a focal point and a proper counter balance to your sofa.

Thats the wall your tv should go on, and put the clock above the fireplace.

Lots of us here on Houzz do not like large clocks. It's a less than desirable way to simply cover wall space. I think your room could be more interesting with some canvas art and moving the TV to a better location.

I like clocks cause if there's a power outage I chewed least Knowle the time where if your cell phone is down and you could even put the clock over by your counter where the chairs are at

Decorate below the door and window frames. Not a fan of big box store battery operated clocks myself. Art takes the prize for decorating, IMO. Agree your chairs are too small scale for the rest of your seating and architecture.

In my mind, a large clock tells guests that their time with you is limited and you want them to watch the clock.
I have no clocks in the entertaining areas for that reason. So, NO, it does not belong in the living room. In the kitchen, maybe in the den, but not where you spend time with guests.

I don't think it does your room any favors. If you love it in there, at least lower it and center it over the little table. I'd prefer a large, square piece of art to give the room some color...

Have you tried flipping the furniture, with the sofa facing the windows?

The clock is really too big...and as to the furniture the whole room would approve by making the fireplace the focal point ...going one step further i would face the sectional toward the fireplace as well..if it fits....and as suggested place the two small chairs angled on each side of the fireplace

Painting the fireplace surround and shelves the same color will also unify the look ...even matching the wall color so they look more like built-ins

I like sectional away from wall with chairs by fireplace ( but maybe not so close to wall). However, I would switch clock and TV or put TV to left or right of fireplace. I think putting TV above fireplace takes away from the beautiful fireplace. The 'clock on the brick may look better (you'll have to determine that) Or put clock to the left or right of fireplace.
If you switch clock and TV can you angle sectional the other way?

I think the clock has to go based on all the comments above.... so I will need more suggestions on what to do with that large empty wall. But TV we want to keep where it is - sometimes we watch from the kitchen that’s on the other side of the room.

You still have that giant clock, and even if I liked it, it is still too high. What you need is some art over the bookcases and on the left side wall over the left end of the sofa. I would also add some fabric panels framing the windows and sliders, in addition to the roll-up shades, for some softness or texture. The huge AC unit in the window makes that chair unusable because it pushes into the head space of anyone sitting in the chair. Pull the ottoman out a bit from the sectional to allow access to the seating. The wall sconces seem to be lighting the ceiling.

A large scale mirror would be perfect, give the illusion of a more open space, and would reflect the light from all the windows directly across the room.

Or a group of mirrors - my mom had a cool wall of convex mirrors

But any mirror / mirrors that would fit your home’s current style . I like the starburst mirrors but that requires a MCM flavor which I’m not sure your home has...

Yes, the clock will be removed - need some manpower as it’s heavy :)
We are installing central AC this year, so that window unit will not be an issue anymore.
Wall scones are from the prior owner - I have not had a chance to think about them yet - open to any suggestions for updating.

The 76th street mirrors are my favorite too! and would be perfect for your space. I think the TV is fine on the fireplace but it you have the $ please consider this - it’s the frame TV by Samsung - my next splurge , I’m tempted to accidentally hit a golf ball into my family room tv so I can replace it with this one which is literally a piece of art

Yes the sconces could be replaced with something more updated. For now you could flip them upside down for more down lighting - would look cozy for reading in the chairs below

So I re-arranged the furniture, moved the clock, hung the curtains, what is next? Still thinking through the best option for the empty wall, having hard time visualizing what would work there best.

Art...in a grouping...(about the same size and position of the double window on the opposite wall)..would add some balance to the unequal wall sizes

I think the reason it may not belong is that you have a lot of angles and lines in the room and this makes the big circle seem out of place.

As to the art ..not sure about size ....as the furniture is all pretty low and the wall is so tall...if you choose to keep it more at eye level...tape off the area on the wall that seems to relate well and shop for a big piece or pieces that fit in the chosen area...lower than high will not require the clock to coordinate with the art ...as it might.... if the art is too high
