Sorry for the late response. I had a full day at work today. Ingrid.. I have photos to share but please look at only the furniture. It is in a "not even started" room. It doesnt reflect well on my style, home, or housekeeping skills. The wallpaper is partially removed -- as it was when I moved in. So, with all those disclaimers, please look at the furniture only. It isnt that I don't like the birds eye maple, but I have had it for 20+ years and I am wanting a new look. I am not sure that this set, even painted, has the look I am going for. I would like a style that works better with the bed-- and that provides more/better storage. Can I make do with it until I find the right thing? Absolutely-- I can make do with it indefinitely. Really, I do not think I would paint over birds eye maple veneer on any piece-- and I would pay for other vintage pieces to paint before I would knowingly upset my mom. When I do find a replacement, I will likely keep these dressers for another room or will keep in storage to pass on to a niece. BTW the set was a gift for my 18th birthday. There is also a vanity on the other side of the bed (mirror is not set up)

Our foyer is 9', so probably too low for hers if she wants much chain. Rebecca, I thought your ceiling was higher than 8'. The 13" h x 13" diameter might work for you. I have this one in the back hallway, different finish (garage entrance) - also 9' ceiling. Bought thinking maybe foyer, but it was too small. 10.5" h x 9.2" dia. Here is the 13" x 13" light fixture in our MBath. Older picture, and not great but I'm not home. It needs some chain on it in order to look right. Looks like there are 5 or 6 links on ours. I love Arhaus and would shop with them, but they don’t do in store pick up and the shipping to my area is just not worth it. Got ready to purchase a bed and the cost to get it to me was $300. I’m going to need 3 stools and most everything comes in pairs or outside that practical cost zone for me. May end up with an additional stool. I’m telling you it is a real struggle to get anything besides the same ole boring and tradition decor and furnishings in that area. I agree with you about the chairs, but they are really good quality and finding something to replace them around here or without paying shipping cost is my same old song and dance. Fabric and an upholster I can get. Plus if I don’t use the stuff, there’s that “What am I going to do with it”? Nobody will pay me anything for it, and I already have a storage building with stuffed full, so I might as well use it. I’m getting to old for this, but I will get it done sooner or most likely later. I’ll send you a photo when it’s hung. And that will take weeks. Have a good evening. Thanks!

A quick, easy change would be the bar stools. Try flipping the buffet with the piece in the foyer and let's see how that looks. If I were you, I'd eliminate the tables, lamps and art flanking the door. You should consider using that wall space for drapery stack back like in the dining room. It appears the door is in the center so you shouldn't have a problem doing that. Try stacking the two pieces of art vertically on the bit of wall between the dining and living spaces with one hand's breadth between them and that space at 5' above the floor. Stacked art that hangs close to the floor can be striking!
