olychick, thank you for taking a look. :) I'm relieved to hear you think a white shower pan is best. I am heading out now to find porcelain marble look tiles for the shower walls to pick up the gray as you suggested. I want a shiny finish to the walls. Tell me if you think that's a misstep. I am avoiding marble as I have a marble topped vanity now that is pock marked with etchings. As far as seeing myself in the vanity, yes, I think I will be able to do so. I was planning on a black framed mirror spanning the vanity. My current vanity is 32 1/4" high (as will be the new vanity) and when seated on my vanity stool my reflection is seen up to my chest. The only issue currently is that my knees are pressed against drawers. I failed to mention that I was thinking of using absolute black granite for the vanity top for two reasons: one being cost and the other being to avoid etching. Will doing so deviate too much from my inspiration? @Pennydesign- yes, suzyq53 is correct; the furniture went in mostly through the deck steps. Little things came up the spiral staircase. @Lindsey, yes the privacy issues from the staircase is an issue. That's yet another detail we have been considering. We'll keep a door on the room. I want to compare your thoughts with my estimate. This is my first renovation and I want to make sure I understand the process. Sorry the pics are a bit light. However, picture one has a rectangular walk in closet with 1.5 ft expansion on the bathroom, while picture #2 has an incomplete diagonal privacy wall with 1.5 ft expansion on the bathroom. Please note we have an eastern king bed and side dressers for lighting & our personal items. That means we need about 11 ft for the bed and dressers to go against. Thanks for being interested.

Thanks for the suggestions, all. I spent the morning at three different local tile showrooms, collecting samples. We'll see if anything works. It's been a challenge to find a solid that coordinates, as the colors of the calacatta look tile are hard to pin down. I may have found a warm white field tile that would work, now I just need to decide how I feel about a white field tile for the floor. Just like ILoveRed, I also liked this tile because it was a nice mix of warm and cool colors. The tile kayca posted is beautiful - I think I recognize it from another recommendation I got somewhere, now I just need to see if anyone carries it locally. We're trying to stay away from just using a smaller tile for a few reasons. It's a fairly large space, so I'm concerned a small tile might look busy and out of proportion. The house also leans more contemporary, so while I love the marble, we're looking to balance it's more traditional look with a larger more modern size. And finally, we really don't want to have to worry about having lots of grout to clean. I believe the Vallelunga is probably fine for some, and if it was already in a house I bought I would probably add rugs, use slippers, and live with it just fine. Since I'm starting from scatch, though, it seems like I ought to be able to find a solution that doesn't require all that.

I would choose a tile paint that would cover ONLY the red. Find a colour that would work for the bathroom (with floor pattern as-is) and then go ahead and paint JUST the red. But that means you would HAVE to change out the light/plug-in facing to the same colour (or match the wall tile colour). Personally (because I am cheap and lazy) I would look at large throw rugs (no backing...just natural fibres...you have in-floor heat) to cover up most of the floor. By leaving a bit of the red peeping out means you can leave the switch plates alone. If you are moving in 4 years, you can reassess in 3 years. Remember: if you are moving in a short amount of time, you are not the 'owner' you are designing for. You are trying to design for someone else. Someone you do NOT know. That's tough enough on it's own.
