I purchased a stand-alone MTI air tub cause I love to take a bath everyday. I researched for months before deciding. I purchased the matte resin finish. Within days of it being installed I had a ski accident and broke my hip so although it was hard at first to get in the tub , I am using it more than every o typically would. I love how it looks. I like that the bubbles come from the bottom and not the sides. The air blower is louder than I had hoped and while it has a fast and low speed setting, I wish it could be even lower so it would be just a gentle quiet flow. I called customer service and they are responsive but gave me no solutions to decrease blower speed. The installers were impressed with how substantial it is - they said they caution customers that the acrylic tubs can easily tip if not filled with water. The Argentinians are pretty good but I made sure that lying down I could rest my foot at the other end which is essential for s relaxing bath. Lastly I like that it “self cleans” the air holes by blowing out any remaking water 7 Minutes after a bath. But beware, it can sound like a jet engine for few seconds. All in all I am happy with this choice.

I tried them 2 years ago with mixed results. I planted indeterminate tomatoes in 7 gallon fabric pots & these raised beds. Same varieties, same age (raised from seeds), and the same amount of sunshine. I lined the sides of the fabric pots with large garbage bags to help hold in the moisture. The plants in the fabric pots were still hard to keep moist and I don't know if that was the reason they didn't do as well or if it was some other factor. They weren't even half the size of the ones in the raised beds and production was also greatly reduced. On the other hand, I planted eggplants & ground cherries in the 3 & 5 gallons pots and they did fantastic!! The plants were very happy and production was great. I also lined the inside with garbage bags to help with moisture control and they were still hard to keep the dirt moist; but those plants didn't seem to care.

I read this whole thread before taking a risk on Yardzen. I have a pretty small project, where it's not cost effective to work through the entire design process with an expensive landscape architect. I thought the risks were minimal ... but my experience with Yardzen was terrible! So I wanted to circle back to this thread, even though it's pretty old and add my voice to the chorus above warning you to avoid Yardzen. It's not worth it. I spent quite a bit of time on the questionnaire, but got a first iteration back from Yardzen that was SUPER far from what I was looking for. The house was a color I specifically said I didn't want. The aesthetic was super contemporary, even though my house is craftsman style. It felt like the info I entered wasn't even considered. I added a bunch of feedback (more time wasted). I even met with a designer they offered to put me in touch with. After that virtual meeting, I felt better. But when my final design came back, I had so many weird design details in my drawings ...for example, counter seating facing a fence. You can always pay for them to do further iterations, but at this point, it felt like a bottomless pit. You can keep giving feedback, but there's a real disconnect between the client and the design team. The risks here are more than just your money; it's your time and energy as well.

@Aglitter and @megs1030 - thank you for your feedback! This is a remodel, not a new build. It is a pretty busy kitchen and has been even more so with everyone working and schooling at home! I have 3 teens who do a lot of smoothie-making and microwaving and toaster-ovening. So it would be nice for them to have the main fridge and freezer near the kitchen table end of the kitchen (and out of my prep zone). However, I have read so many of the layout experts on here recommend that the fridge not be too far from the prep zone. So this combo unit seems like a good way to deal with that concern. It could be used for veggies, ingredients and sauces used only in cooking (broth, herbs, soy sauce, worcestershire), raw meat or seafood that is defrosting for the next dinner, etc. The main fridge and freezer would have snacks, condiments, all beverages, leftovers, frozen smoothie ingredients, frozen waffles, french fries, ice cream, etc. I have been hesitant about posting my layout ideas here because certain folks are so dismissive and their only advice is "get a KD." The only plans I have at this point are my own preliminary ideas because I want to work with a specific KD on this project and she is not going to be available for a couple of months due to some personal issues. I am happy to wait for her, because she is that good. In the meantime, she has given me a little "homework" of researching the appliances and starting some preliminary thinking about my wish list and layout. Once she is available, we will be able to get together and hammer out the details. Until then, I've been trying to gather my thoughts and ideas and start thinking through the many options. Maybe I need to just bite the bullet and post some of my layout ideas and try my best to not let the house kitchen bullies upset me. ;)
